Midlands & East Anglia NHBC Awards

NHBC recognition for Craig Gilbert and David Wilson Homes

Tavener Fields is a picturesque development located close to the village of Duston in Northamptonshire.

Built by David Wilson Homes and using in-house architects, Tavener Fields has been recognised for its outstanding quality by the National House Building Council (NHBC) in the form of an award for site manager Craig Gilbert. Craig has been granted an NHBC Pride in the Job Award, which is awarded to the best Site Managers in the country.

Tavener Fields offers a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses with approximately 190 homes on the site.

The build is currently on Phase Three, which is the last phase of the project. Around 140 houses have already been finished and the project is estimated to be completed by 2014.

Homes on Tavener Fields are being built to different specifications and include a variety of internal finishes, making each property individual. The development is perfectly located on the edge of beautiful rolling countryside, yet it is still only 10 minutes drive from Northampton.

Site Manager Craig Gilbert said:

“I have been on the project for around 3 years and it is probably the second biggest site I have worked on. There was an old ball-bearing factory on the site before, which had to be demolished to make way for the build.

“There are a lot of open areas and greenery and we have put in various statues and artistic features. We have also built a football pitch. It’s possible that these aspects have helped towards getting the award but really it’s down to the quality of the build.”

Award-winner Craig spoke very highly of his team and their recognition from the NHBC.

“Its credit to the trades on site that we have been recognised in this way, obviously the site manager points them in the right direction, but they have worked with me for a long time so I feel like I have a very good team around me.

“I was really pleased when I found out about the award. I have been with David Wilson Homes for 15 years and it’s great to be recognised in this way. I’m very proud of the site and very proud of the team.”
