An internal fit-out scheme to transform Limegrove House in St Helier has reached completion.
The Limegrove House project was implemented by leading financial services provider, State Street and comprised the complete internal fit-out of an unused building to rework the site into a modern bank. Jersey-based company Deerglen was the main contractor on the project, whilst London-based practice, Research Architects provided all architectural services on the site.
Prior to the renovation work taking place on the site the five-storey building had remained vacant for ten years, with a number of considerations being suggested for its use.
Work began on the Limegrove House project in March 2012 and reached completion in October 2012. On the basement level of Limegrove House, Deerglen installed a number of shower rooms which will be used by the State Street staff, whilst work on the ground floor included the installation of new offices and a connected post room.
Work on level two and three of the site included the installation of additional office space, whilst the top floor of the building saw a number of client facing rooms created. As the site was previously an empty shell the work conducted on the scheme saw the installation of many partitions and also included a small amount of structural alterations.
The internal fit-out also included the installation of wall coverings which were provided by contract and commercial wall coverings company, Muraspec. The company is a leading UK designer, manufacturer and distributor of commercial wall coverings and interior surfaces and has been in operation for over 40 years.
The exterior of Limegrove House remained intact during the works and involved no major alterations with the exception of the installation of associated State Street signage. There was no external landscaping on the project.
Deerglen Procurement Manager, Ross Le Brocq, said:
“Limegrove House is located on the outskirts of St Helier, so there were no problems with access which made the job run very smoothly. The project was quite straight forward, we encountered no major difficulties with the scheme and the work was completed on time and within budget.”
Ross added:
“Prior to the completion of State Street the bank existed locally as three different offices, so this site now means that the company has been able to consolidate its former facilities into one. The completion of the Limegrove House project will be hugely beneficial to the company.”
