As a rapidly expanding commercial building company, Willian UK has built its reputation on dedication, reliability and honesty.

The company employs a team of highly experienced industry professionals – including a dedicated project management team – who complete each project within realistic timeframes and budgets.

With more than 35 years of experience in the industry, Willian UK specialises in a wide range of projects, from new builds and modular builds, to efficient, high quality refit schemes. The high standard of each project is reflected in the amount of repeat business that Willian UK undertakes and the company continues to explore the latest techniques to improve the service it provides.

Amongst its vast portfolio of projects, which includes The Academy in Manchester and a new pavilion for Shrewsbury Town Football Club, Willian UK has completed works on Viva Brazil Cardiff, The Black Swan in Cheshire and Malai restaurant, Manchester.

As part of an extensive refurbishment scheme, the site underwent an important makeover with Willian UK on board as the main contractor. Work included the refurbishment of timber beams and flagstone floors, along with the installation of a new Jamie Oliver pizza oven.

The refurbishment scheme was scheduled to take place in just seven weeks, and despite the short time frame all of the work was completed on time.

Willian UK was appointed on The Black Swan refurbishment scheme, following the successful completion of the Swan Hotel refurbishment project, a four-star hotel owned by Sharon Bardsley, owner of The Black Swan.

Discussing the refurbishment scheme, Sharon Bardsley commented:

“Living locally I felt it would be so nice to have a proper local that was part of the community and did really good food and cask ales. We put everything into it that I wanted out of a local and what I felt that the whole community would appreciate.”

Malai Manchester

Situated on Wilmslow Road, Rusholme – within Manchester’s famous Curry Mile – Malai Manchester is a brand new restaurant offering guests a sophisticated Indian dining experience. Willian UK was the main contractor on the £1 million project which was implemented by North West restaurateur Jaf Siddiqi.

Split across two floors, the 120-seat restaurant opened in November 2012 and includes open kitchens, table-side tandoor ovens, and a private dining on the second floor. The restaurant showcases a vibrant colour scheme, which makes use of authentic Indian artefacts, whilst additional features include valet parking and complimentary rickshaw rides into Manchester City Centre.

Discussing the overall design scheme for Malai Manchester, Malai Owner, Jaf Siddiqi, said:

“The expectations of Indian food in the UK have increased dramatically, with a good percentage of people now understanding exactly what good Indian food is.

“It was important for me to strike the right balance of Malai’s Indian heritage and a premium fine-dining atmosphere within the overall design. We meticulously planned to reflect this as well as possible.”
