This month’s edition of Premier Construction: Channel Islands Construction Focus offers up a selection of fantastic projects taking place across Guernsey and Jersey.
In this edition we take a look at the brand new Mansell Collection; we highlight the work being undertaken to improve Jersey General Hospital; and we profile the impressive work of ROK Construction.
The Mansell Collection is a two-part business based in Jersey; on the one hand it is a car sales business, on the other a museum detailing the record breaking career of celebrated driver Nigel Mansell.
Based in a stunning 1920’s art deco building, visitors can expect to see cars for sale ranging from a Mini through to a Ferrari California, alongside a fantastic showcase of trophies, cars and memorabilia that have been accumulated throughout Nigel’s illustrious career.
Visitors will be treated to an up-close viewing of some of the most powerful machines ever made, from the S6 40 from Ferrari driven in 1989 to the F114 Williams car, driven in 1992 when Nigel won the World Championship.
Meanwhile, the Jersey General Hospital project comprises the refurbishment of two departments within the hospital, along with the fit-out of an additional unit located in a site adjacent to the hospital. The affected areas include the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the Dermatology Unit and a new clinic space and once work is complete on the project the site will provide improved services for patients.
And finally, founded in 2007, ROK Construction is currently involved in a number of development schemes, including the restoration of St James Church and the £500,000 Bali-Hai project. Guided by company directors Graham Seaford and Robert Matthews, ROK Construction specialises in the construction of commercial, industrial and residential new build projects, along with office refurbishments and shop fit-outs.
