Postcode Anywhere has multimillion pound move

 Postcode Anywhere- Worcester

With more than 10 years of growth and 8000 customers, Postcode Anywhere is one of the UK’s leading providers of address management and location services.

The award winning Worcester-based company cemented their success with a move to a new multimillion pound, 8,000ft sq facility last month.

Taylor Wimpey’s £75 million ‘flagship’ Waterside development’ will now act as the new UK headquarters for Postcode Anywhere. Speaking about the development Managing Director, Guy Mucklow said:

“Previous to our move, 35 members of staff operated out of a fairly small 4,000 sq ft building in a pretty rural environment about three miles outside of Worcester. We were there for 5 years in total and over the last few years we have been looking to find a HQ building that befits the direction the company is going in.

“This building is located in the Worcester canal basin area, which has gone through a major regeneration process over last decade. It is fantastically situated, with the River Seven in front of us, the canal wharf behind us and the start of the Birmingham-Worcester canal adjacent it is a very scenic area.

“It is very much a statement building and we have spent a lot of money on the fit out- three times the cost of the building. We really wanted the design to convey to the world that we’re a successful, growing business and since moving we have had great feedback from clients.”

On the build itself, Guy added: “Our refurbishment was more complex than most because of the extensive cabling required to support our IT functions.

“We have used over 10 km on cable in the office and have had to work closely with other major suppliers like BT to ensure that we have the required bandwidth and resilience to support our operations.  We are very grateful to our team of contractors and service providers who have all worked exceptionally hard to deliver a workplace that all of us at Postcode Anywhere can be extremely proud of.”

Amongst the main specialists  that have worked exceptionally hard to ensure that the work was completed on time and on budget, was Birmingham-based project managers, Fusion Building Consultancy  and Stratford-upon-Avon based, Squaredot, who provided the very innovative interiors designs.

Speaking about the design, David Kramer from Squaredot said:  The project has not been without its challenges as it involved converting three separate units into one which makes the provision of essential services such as water and power complex elements to manage.

“The character of the building really reflects the business and gives a very soft and creative feel and not a corporate one. We have been quite respectful to the light industrial heritage of the building in that we have tried to utilize the existing space. So there are a lot of raw materials and air conditioning exposed giving a greater depth.”

When asked about the progress of the development, David added:

“The camaraderie between everyone involved has been fantastic and we have worked together as one cohesive and focused team sharing the same objective which was to get the job done to a high specification within a very short lead-time.”

Work started on the new facility in September last year and was completed over the Christmas period, with Postcode Anywhere accommodating the building in January.
