Kensa Engineering has reaffirmed its position as the leading manufacturer and supplier of ground source heat pumps with a double win at the H & V News Awards 2013; the only company to achieve a double-win this year.
Celebrating alongside its partner clients at the prestigious affair hosted at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane, Kensa achieved accolades in the following categories:
(Winner) Renewable Project of the Year – In association with New Linx Housing Trust;
(Winner) Retrofit Project of the Year – In association with Yarlington Housing Group; (Finalist) Domestic H&V Product of the Year – the Kensa Shoebox heat pump.
Simon Lomax, MD of Kensa Engineering, commented:
“Kensa’s ability to perform innovative and large scale installations has been recognised by our peers and it is a proud moment for the company. As the country’s largest ground source heat pump supplier, it is important that we continue to set an example to the remainder of the industry. Heat pumps are a particularly important technology in the South West because so many rural properties have no access to mains gas. Deployment of heat pumps can result in significantly lower energy bills and carbon.”
Kensa’s award for Retrofit Project of the Year recognised the landmark scheme with Yarlington Housing Group, which involved the installation of 200 ground source heat pumps in 90 days into social housing.
Established in 1999, Kensa Engineering Limited is the number one supplier of ground source heat pumps to the UK, with a 21 – 25% market share.
Kensa supplies the UK’s widest product range of ground source heat pumps to satisfy all residential and commercial applications. The entire Kensa product range is manufactured from their UK premises at the former tin mine site, Mount Wellington Mine, in Cornwall. Kensa uniquely exploits the heat stored in the water within the old mine shafts at Mount Wellington Mine to provide heat to their buildings, using a Kensa heat pump.
Accolades for Kensa have included the 2012 SME Manufacturer of the Year Awards (finalist), the 2011 EEF Future Manufacturing Awards (finalist), 2009 Housing Excellence Award for Product of the Year, the 2009 Corgi Live Green Manufacturer of the Year award and the 2008 Ashden Award for UK Business of the Year.
