Re-launching The Park Tower Knightsbridge

Sheraton Park Tower Knightsbridge

Following an extensive renovation The Park Tower Knightsbridge has reopened in time for its 40th anniversary.

Part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, the refurbishment includes a complete redesign of the lobby, lounge and bar, reimagining the hotel for a new generation of luxury travellers.

Rising above the world-famous shopping streets of London’s chic Knightsbridge district, the striking circular structure of The Park Tower Knightsbridge was originally designed by acclaimed architect Richard Seifert. The hotel’s elegant new public spaces combine artisanal materials with a colour palette featuring sage greens, milky creams and shimmering silver inspired by the soft foliage of nearby Hyde Park.

London, England – 4th July 2013 – The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts,. (NYSE: HOT), has re-launched The Park Tower Knightsbridge, a Luxury Collection Hotel, London following an extensive renovation of the hotel’s public areas. Completed in time for its 40th anniversary and led by London-based, as it continues to be a distinct Knightsbridge icon for years to come.

Describing the style of the new public areas as luxurious and elegant, acclaimed interior designer Anita Rosato wanted to create an atmosphere that felt authentic. “From the exterior lighting sweeping up the tower, to the hand-picked finishes, such as the rich mahogany, light polished marble and glimmering metal accents, the feeling of anticipation and intrigue that guests will experience when arriving at the hotel was key,” she explained.

“This refurbishment celebrates the ethos of British design and utilises great craftsmanship whilst preserving the original spirit of the hotel.”

The meticulously handcrafted renovation of the lobby has given the space a luminous and delicate feel. A spectacular crystal and porcelain chandelier by British designer Sharon Marston creates a magnificent new centrepiece for guests arriving at the hotel, whilst the wall behind the reception features an organic sculptural relief depicting Hyde Park’s rose gardens with porcelain and gilded petals blowing in the air.

The Knightsbridge Lounge has been completely restyled to provide a tranquil and sophisticated haven at the heart of the hotel. Taking its inspiration from the diverse flora of Hyde Park, the intricate silk wall covering in the lounge features a canopy of hand-painted and hand-embroidered magnolia trees.

In addition to offering a Hyde Park Afternoon Tea specially created by the hotel’s renowned Executive Head Chef Pascal Proyart, the new Knightsbridge Lounge will also serve a selection of fine Champagnes and hot chocolates from local luxury chocolatier Rococo Chocolates.

The redesign of the hotel bar introduces a contemporary décor whilst maintaining its intimate atmosphere. With its elegant wood panelling, eclectic furniture and plush leather chairs, the new Hyde Bar calls to mind a modern-day British gentleman’s club. Specialising in whiskies and cigars, the bar offers a full humidor, as well as an eclectic food and drinks menu. Adjacent to the bar, a new outdoor terrace recreates a typical Knightsbridge townhouse garden with sweet honeysuckle, rose and jasmine-trellised walls providing a serene setting for alfresco refreshments.
