Decadence in Mayfair

Westbury Hotel No 41, Mayfair

Situated on Conduit Street, within the heart of Mayfair, No.41 is an elegant and stylish late night bar and club located within the prestigious Westbury Hotel.

No.41 opened its doors in September and offers up a selection of innovative cocktails and sharing plates, all within a unique and luxurious setting.

As the ultimate haunt for London’s discerning ‘it’ crowd, the late night bar and club opens from Thursday through to Saturday, and serves as a celebration of the marriage between Parisian and European elegance and opulence at its height. No. 41 exudes a strong sense of affluent glamour and boasts an unrivalled nu-disco music programme, heavily focussed on international DJs spinning guests into the early hours.

Alex Kravetz Design was the interior designer on No.41. Established in 2003, Alex Kravetz Design provides a world class design service to the hospitality sector, working with clients such as InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Dorchester Collection and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Alex Kravetz Design has a longstanding working relationship with Westbury Hotel, having initially taken on work with the hotel in 2004 to reposition the hotel from four stars to five. Since 2004, Alex Kravetz Design has undertaken work on all of the public areas of the hotel, including the creation of No.41, as well as guest rooms and major suites.

Speaking to Premier Hospitality, Alex Kravetz, Owner of Alex Kravetz Design, said:

“We were given an initial idea of what the club was to look like, but then we were pretty much left to our own devices. A classical art gallery theme features within the club. The design is unique and quite off-the-wall, making it very different from what everyone else has to offer, mixing both classical and modern designs.”

Alex added:

“Everything at the Westbury Hotel runs smoothly and this is due to a well established team of designers, contractors and consultants who have worked on the hotel for almost the last ten years. We have completed many projects together and we have a very ‘can do’ attitude. We work with high end suppliers and this always ensures that we get the highest quality of services and finishes.”

As guests descend the private staircase leading into No.41. they are immersed in a decadent, yet contemporary space, transporting them away from day to day life. The room is outfitted in opulent furnishings in rich reds and gold, complemented by stately art works, and adorned in grand chandeliers. Artwork and chandeliers are key features of the design and are certainly the areas that will catch the attention of guests.

Reflecting the bar’s name, the drinks menu at No.41 offers forty one drinks, including its signature sharing punches. There are four sharing punches in total; each one taking influence from a different sixties-inspired cocktail. Food is served from 9pm through to 2am, with guests being able to choose from foie-gras bites on brioche to the Bookmaker steak sandwich.’

Westbury Hotel No 41, Mayfair

Having worked with Westbury Hotel for the best part of a decade, Alex Kravetz Design’s involvement on No.41 is very important to the practice. Alex commented:

“Working on projects such as this is important to us. Most of the projects that we undertake come from repeat business and we are only ever as good as our last job, and the last job is never really the last job.

“I look at the work that we complete as a long term investment which needs to last the test of time and can move from one trend to another, which is exactly how we approached No.41.”

No.41 is open until 3am, from Thursday to Saturday. For more information please visit: www.no41mayfair.com.
