Here comes the sun

Sunborn Gibraltar

Sunborn is a unique, pioneering ‘superyacht’ which transforms the hotel experience for guests.

As the first five star yacht hotel, Sunborn Gibraltar provides approximately 15,500m² of floorspace with flexible configuration options, along with numerous impressive features.

The €150 million yacht hotel has taken six years to build and was developed by an international team of architects, designers and marine specialists from more than 15 countries. Sunborn Gibraltar – which is owned by Finnish group Sunborn – was fabricated to exact specifications and built specifically for its location.

Sunborn Gibraltar was designed for hotel operations, utilising the highest standards in construction, safety and technology and will soon be joined by additional floating hotels in London, Barcelona, North America, Southeast Asia, Russia and the Middle East.

Sunborn Gibraltar

Custom-built, Sunborn Gibraltar brings extensive hotel, leisure and event facilities right to the heart of the Ocean Village – a mixed use marina, which includes commercial and residential developments. The Ocean Village occupies a prime position on Gibraltar’s sheltered western coastline and is the perfect location for Sunborn Gibraltar to dock.

The 142 meter yacht hotel comprises 189 beautifully appointed rooms, together with conference and banqueting suites. In addition, the hotel boasts bars, a cocktail lounge, fine dining restaurants, a swimming pool, spa and sundeck.

A stay aboard Sunborn Gibraltar offers visitors a rare treat, with light spacious suites, outstanding public areas and views of the sea and marina. To enable guests to make the most of the amazing vistas, each room features sliding wall-to-wall floor-to-ceiling picture windows, with most opening onto a private balcony or terrace area. Elegant and contemporary fabrics and furnishings are used throughout, with bespoke storage and bathroom fittings designed to create a fabulous five star finish.

Naturally, service is second to none and yacht staff are on hand to provide assistance all day and night. A full concierge service is also available for guests requiring help with theatre, restaurant or taxi bookings.

The yacht’s extensive and highly adaptable conference suite provides 675m² of space, with a choice of flexible configuration options capable of accommodating up to 600 guests. The double-height ballroom can accommodate large and small parties alike and creates a dramatic setting for special occasions. Meanwhile, the spacious top-deck restaurant offers alfresco dining and includes a retractable roof, with floor-to-ceiling folding glass doors.

Additional features of Sunborn Gibraltar include six conference rooms all with interchangeable walls; a spacious cocktail bar with outside areas; a sky bar and outdoor lounge; and a day spa and fitness centre. For guests wanting to take advantage of the sun, a top floor sundeck with swimming pool is surely the place to visit too.

Sunborn Gibraltar

Gibraltar provides a convenient base from which to explore the southern Spanish region of Andalusia or for those keen to venture further afield it’s a must. With more than 300 days of sunshine, VAT-free shopping, relaxed bars and restaurants and some of the friendliest locals in the world, the country is a leading meeting and event destination.

Gibraltar’s recently opened, £90 million International Airport welcomes regular scheduled and charter flights from all major UK airports, and with Sunborn Gibraltar moored only a couple of minutes away, it is the smoothest passenger transport ever. With much to offer, including established nature reserves, botanical gardens, beaches, caves and cultural events, Gibraltar is certainly a destination to visit.

Privately owned Finnish company, Sunborn, has over 40 years experience in the hotel and hospitality sector. The group has more than 1,000 employees, along with a portfolio which includes spa hotels, restaurants, residential developments and of course yacht hotels.
