Constructing with Ardmore

Ardmore Construction

Ardmore is one of the UK’s largest privately owned Design and Build contractors, offering a full capability service which supports all aspects of the construction industry.

The company’s services are structured to offer flexibility and efficiency, providing clients with everything they require for the perfectly delivered project.

Ardmore has more than 40 years in the industry and within this time has delivered a vast array of projects, from residential and mixed-use developments to offices, retail, leisure, educational and industrial schemes.

More recently, Ardmore has become recognised for its high rise and luxury residential projects. The company’s work ranges from luxury apartments and houses to major regeneration schemes and it is projects within this sector which have lead the contractor to become a prime choice for house builders and developers.

Ardmore is structured to provide all major services expected from a main contractor, meaning that not only does Ardmore provide construction services, the company can also provide pre-construction advice and an after-sales service. With professional planners, estimators, surveyors and buyers in the mix, Ardmore can take designs and provide a qualification free and fixed-price offer to all clients within a matter of weeks.

Ardmore also provides off-site production services, from bathroom and kitchen pods, to bespoke joinery, architectural metal work and stonemasonry. The efficient process minimises waste and has been designed to meet the requirements of modern construction sites.

Working on some of the UK’s most impressive projects has seen Ardmore work alongside many key clients, from Bellway and Berkeley to United House and Vanderbilt. Past projects for Ardmore include Shepherds Bush Pavilion; Pembury Circus; Oldridge Road; Dickens Yard and the impressive Paynes and Borthwick development.

Comprising 257 highly specified properties, Paynes & Borthwick Wharves is a £120 million, mixed-use riverside development in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, London. Paynes & Bortwick Wharves includes a fantastic mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments in a beautifully landscaped setting, along with 38,000 sq ft of commercial and retail space, a restaurant, art galleries and an underground car park.

More recently, Ardmore received fantastic recognition from the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), with three of its London projects: Pembury Circus, Durants Village Faygate and New River House. The Pembury Circus site attained an ‘excellent’ scoring for securing everyone’s safety, valuing the workforce and caring about and enhancing appearance.

Michael Powell, CCS Monitor, said:

“The continued and various interaction and involvement with the community is commendable and this plays a very important part of the development which Ardmore should be suitably proud of. Safety and the working environment have a high priority and there are checklist inspection procedures, policies and initiatives in place to meet required standards.”

Durants Village Faygate also received an ‘excellent’ rating for protecting the environment, whilst Ardmore’s New River House picked up an ‘excellent’ rating for respecting the community and securing everyone’s safety.

Ardmore’s Managing Director, Cormac Byrne, said:

“The three awards from the CCS was great news for Ardmore’s site team. Recognition from CCS confirms what Ardmore is all about – that we consistently deliver highly complex and challenging projects in a safe and considerate way.”

Following on from the CCS awards, Ardmore has been shortlisted for a prestigious award by Women in Construction. The award provides a platform for female achievers in the housebuilding and construction industry and to be shortlisted Ardmore had to demonstrate a number of key objectives, including the provision of endless opportunities for women across all areas of the company.

Cormac Byrne, said:

“This is really fantastic news and I am proud that Ardmore has been formally acknowledged by Women in Construction. I’m hopeful we can bag the award because at Ardmore, women play a crucial role in everything we do as a business.”
