The Chartered Quality Institute is working to evolve quality on the UK’s railways.
They have teamed up with Crossrail to provide specialist training for their quality professionals. Bombardier Transportation UK has also joined the CQI as a Corporate Member, demonstrating a recognition and commitment to both Quality Management and Quality Professionals.
The CQI Crossrail training programme is the first of its kind for the CQI and will train quality professionals working on Crossrail contracts. With contractors such as Morgan Sindell, Bechtel and Taylor Woodrow working on this high profile project, quality consistency across the board is essential.
Emma McNab, Head of Quality at Taylor Woodrow said:
“Our aim is to raise the importance of quality within construction, by demonstrating the benefits, both financially and personally. We will encourage everyone to have pride in what they do and to build it “right, the first time.”
Vince Desmond, Executive Director CQI Membership, added:
“The transport industry is developing rapidly at the moment with projects such as Crossrail and delivering high quality products will be of the utmost importance to the sector. By becoming a CQI Corporate member, Bombardier Transportation is committed to ensuring they continue their role as a global leader in the transport sector.”
