Clancy Construction

With offices in Cork, Dublin and Thurles, Clancy Construction is a leading Irish construction company undertaking large scale construction projects throughout the nation.

Since its inception in the 1940s, Clancy Construction has slowly increased in size and is currently capable of tackling all sizes of construction projects, across both the public and private sectors.

Projects conducted by Clancy Construction include the Minella Hotel, Wateford Regional Sports Centre, Thurles Ambulance Base, Mooncoin Nursing Home in Co. Kilkenny, St. John’s Cathedral in Limerick and Killiney Court. Moving forward, Clancy Construction has recently announced that it has signed contracts with the Grangegorman Development Agency to undertake refurbishment work on the Grangegorman DIT Clocktower Building.

In 2013 the company underwent a number of significant changes, which helped Clancy Construction to build upon its continued success. These changes included appointing John Corcoran as Finance Director, Declan Fitzpatrick as Contracts and Quality Director, Chris Chambers as Dublin Regional and Safety Director, Nigel Cooke as Surveying Director and John O’ Shaughnessy as Managing Director.

The changes made by Clancy Construction demonstrate a clear confidence in the company’s ability to deliver. Changes have often been reactive to market conditions and this has proved very successful for Clancy Construction.

A spokesperson for Clancy Construction, said:

“As the construction industry experienced significant contraction in 2009, we reacted quickly and decisively by putting strategies in place that allowed us to maintain our core competencies, retain and indeed enhance our ISO 9001/2008 Quality Management System and our Safe T Safety Certification. These strategies have seen our turnover stabilise and has resulted in the awarding of some significant projects such as the design and build of the new Cardiac Unit for Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children Crumlin, New Theatre Extension to Nenagh General Hospital, the design and build of the first phase of The Limerick Regeneration Programme at Cliona Park, Moyross along with further major social housing projects at Southill and Vizes Court Limerick.

“These changes bring a wealth of expertise and energy to the company as it continues to develop in extremely harsh trading conditions which will ensure we are well placed within the industry with a highly motivated professional team to ensure continued sustainable growth into the future.”
