Park Grand Lancaster Gate, London

A refurbishment project at the Park Grand Lancaster Gate has now been completed, upping the hotel’s star rating considerably in the process.

Situated in Central London, close to Hyde Park, the hotel was previously a 3 star venue and following the extensive renovation has been rated an impressive 4 Plus.

MTD Contractors acted as the main contractors during the project and, having worked on many other Park Grand hotels previously, were ideally placed to undertake the works. MTD have undertaken renovation and refurbishment works for the hotel’s sister sites Park Grand London Heathrow and Park Grand Kensington, and so have established a long term, strong working relationship with the client.

Works on site began in January 2014 and comprised a full refurbishment of the hotel including supplying the furniture, furnishings and carpets. MTD Contractors, who also acted as the architect and designer on the project, renovated the hotel’s 64 bedrooms installing new wiring and plumbing, as well as implementing impressive new en-suite bathrooms all of which were finished to a high standard.

Premier Hospitality caught up with the Managing Director of MTD Contractors, Marius Di Conescu, to find out more about the project. He told us:

“During the refurbishment process the hotel remained open which was difficult but we managed to complete the project successfully by the beginning of May 2014. We split off the areas of the hotel we were working on at any one time from the live sections of the hotel so that there was minimum disruption to guests; as a result there were no complaints.

“The feedback from the hotel since we completed the project has been amazing; the venue is fully booked and customer feedback has also been outstanding.”

Marius said that MTD have a lot of experience working on hotel refurbishments, despite being a construction company the firm also specialise in hotel constructions and renovations, as well as commercial developments. The company have many other hotel projects lined up with other clients and also plan to work on three other venues with the Park Grand team.
