Emanuel Whittaker, Oldham

An Oldham based construction and regeneration firm was established by Emanuel Whittaker in 1837.

Naming the firm after himself Emmanuel Whittaker’s has gone onto gain an established reputation in the construction industry, continuously delivering a high standard of workmanship in all projects.

Over the years the firm has become a specialist in the field of public sector regeneration, refurbishment, construction and conversion, as well as retaining an active joinery manufacturing division. Clive Newton and John Gallagher own the firm and combine their private expertise with the skills, experience, processes and systems of a major industry player.

Emmanuel Whittaker has offices located throughout the North West in Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire. The services on offer from Emmanuel include New Build and Refurbishment projects, Housing Market Renewals, Social Housing Refurbishment and Joinery Manufacture. The firm’s Joinery Division manufacture custom made, bespoke products for an array of clients; products include stairs, windows, doors, conservatories, as well as refurbishing existing products.

The firm works across most sectors but primarily focus on public sector housing, as well as public buildings and private sector renewal and refurbishment. The firm feels their continued growth and success is down to their traditional values of integrity, honesty and excellence.

Emanuel Whittaker is extremely passionate about their responsibility to reduce their impact on the environment both locally, regionally and globally. To this end the firm has instigated a robust environmental management system which is successfully independently assessed against the ISO14001 Standard. All of Emmanuel Whittaker’s sites and divisions identify and address environmental and sustainability aspects and impacts across all of their activities.

In line with the firm’s environmentally aware policies they have recently implemented a number of Green Initiatives. The Green Deal is the Government’s flagship initiative to address performance of buildings in the UK.  This scheme is an excellent fit for Emanuel Whittaker, enabling the company to bring their vast experience of corporate social responsibility and traditional skills into a modern green building environment.

As part of the Green Deal Programme all staff is undergoing awareness training, receiving tool box talks for sites, as well as reviewing their environmental systems to ensure they meet the necessary PAS 2030 accreditation early in the New Year.
