Hyatt Regency Birmingham

Owners of the Hyatt Regency Hotel Birmingham have invested £6 million in the refurbishment of the entire venue.

Hyatt Regency is a hotel group offering facilities for both business and leisure. Hyatt Regency hotels are a welcome place for convention goers, business travellers and leisure seekers alike, conveniently located in urban, suburban, airport, convention and vacation destinations.

Boasting a prime central location in the heart of Birmingham, the Hyatt Regency Hotel is mid-way through an extensive refurbishment process which plans to modernise and completely renew the whole hotel including introducing a brand new bar and restaurant concept

The hotel has 319 luxury bedrooms and suites across 23 floors, all of which offer breathtaking views across the city of Birmingham.

Working with a number of contractors, Hyatt Regency chose Novis Ltd to help update   the bedrooms, while Lambro Ltd took charge of the bar areas. The main architects were De Salle Flint.

Mario Flanagan, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Birmingham said:

“De Salle Flint is a superb design company. They have managed to make our vision a reality.”

The given brief for the project was to bring the city of Birmingham into the hotel. The designers used locally sourced materials where possible and incorporated local artwork.

Speaking to us about the refurbishment process, Mario said:

“I’m really proud that Hyatt trusts me with the Hyatt Regency Birmingham. For me to take on the hotel in a city that I hadn’t visited before was exciting, but to be involved in a £6 million investment in its refurbishment is a great achievement and a memorable moment in my career. The investment is also a significant vote of confidence in Birmingham itself by Hyatt and will see the hotel maintain its position alongside some of the very best hotels in the country.”

The refurbishment is set to complete by the end of September and the hotel remains open during the process.

Hyatt Regency Hotel Birmingham plays home to a plethora of wellbeing availabilities including a gymnasium, a 16 meter swimming pool and an Amala spa for wellness and beauty treatments.

Whilst staying at the hotel, guests have the opportunity to visit local attractions. Birmingham is a vibrant city of history and culture offering something for everybody; from designer shopping in The Mailbox or the exclusive Bullring, as well as an evening of theatre or concerts at CSBO, Birmingham NEC and Symphony Hall.
