A project to provide new living accommodation in Palmers Green, London continues to make good progress.

The project is being implemented by Notting Hill Housing Trust (NNHT) and is part of a much wider scheme to regenerate the local area.

The housing project comprises the construction of 50 apartments, split across two sites known as Site One and Site Fifteen. The two sites are further subdivided into three sections and once complete will provide a range of houses and flats, from one and two bedroom flats through to three and four bedroom houses, within the Palmers Green area.

The houses on the two developments are being constructed from traditional methods and incorporate a mix of brick work with glazed balustrade balconies and slate roofs. Whilst the construction may employ traditional methods the properties incorporate modern design features and stunning finishes to showcase style and quality.

Leading Affordable Housing Contractor Bugler Developments is the main contractor on the project. The company has more than 30 years’ experience within the industry and have strong working relationships with several Housing Associations, including Notting Hill Housing (NHH).

Bugler Developments took possession of the sites in May 2013 and quickly began on constructing the developments working alongside Aros Architects as the architectural practice on the project. Aros Architects has been in operation since 2001 and provides design services on a range of projects, from homes and offices to hotel and leisure schemes.

Speaking to Premier Construction about the new housing developments, Bugler Developments Pre-Construction Manager, David Culliton, said:

“We have worked with NHHT for a long time, in fact they were the first housing association that we worked with back when we were formed. Now here we are more than 30 years later constructing another in a series of new projects for them which is just great.

“Notting Hill is our biggest client and this is a very high profile project for them. We are currently working on six individual schemes with Notting Hill and we are very proud of our association with the NHHT.”

David added:

“At present the work is running as we would expect and we have encountered no major challenges.”

NHH is a leading London housing association currently managing more than 28,000 properties across London. The association was founded in 1963 and provides affordable housing to a diverse range of customers, with the works in Palmers Green in the London Borough of Enfield being the association’s latest project.

As a forward thinking and savvy business, NHH reinvests its income back into the business providing the association with the required funds to build even more homes. This reinvestment allows them to meet the ever growing need for housing in London whilst retaining the same high quality across its portfolio.
