The developments on The King’s Head were down to Inn Collection Group, a leading hospitality and pub company in the North of England collaborating with main contractors Brims, and Architects Nicholson Design of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Between them, all businesses contributed toward a successful fast-track refurbishment finalised in just four weeks. During these four weeks, the Inn closed to the public to help speed up the process.
Premier Hospitality caught up with CEO of Inn Collection Group, Keith Liddell, to ask a few questions about the developments. He said:
“The King’s Head was a very important project to us and a great opportunity. It was the first time we have worked with our new investors so of course they wanted to see us perform well.”
The project which began in May and concluded in June consisted of increasing the number of bedrooms from eight to twelve in order to accommodate more visitors. Following the success and finalisation of the Inn, feedback has been very positive, with a well-established customer profile. Additionally the developments have expanded the target market groups and rapidly increased areas of food and beverage, as well as of course the extra rooms for accommodation; which is an extremely advantageous factor to the King’s Head business.
When staying at the King’s Head, you can choose from single, double, twin or family rooms with rates starting at £65 per room. All rooms include a complimentary Full English or Continental breakfast for guests to indulge in. Guest rooms all have their own character and individuality and some boast picturesque views of Roseberry Topping.
Keith also said:
“The customer groups have definitely altered since the pub has been refurbished; there is a much wider range of customers that visit now. The pub now sees people between the ages of early 20’s right through to 70’s, so we most definitely covered all ages and bases.”
The Inn serves delicious hearty, fresh food all day, everyday, in the recently refurbished dining area. Food is chiefly produced from local ingredients and available menus include Main Menu, Breakfast and Light Bites, Children’s Menu, Christmas Day Menu and Christmas Fayre Menu. The main menu offers several sumptuous starters, main courses and desserts such as a seafood tian, peppered belly pork or Whitby Scampi and chips; and several desserts including sticky toffee pudding.
