The Belsfield Hotel, situated in the picturesque Windermere, has undergone an extensive renovation process and has now reopened as a rebranded luxury boutique venue.
The Belsfield, which dates from 1845 and is owned by Corus Hotels Group, has teamed up with well known brand Laura Ashley to completely transform its facilities.
Situated next to the beautiful Lake Windermere the Grade II Listed hotel has been lavishly refurbished by the Laura Ashley Interior Design Service, using the company’s famous fabrics, furniture and fittings. The 62 bedrooms and suites at The Belsfield have been lovingly dressed with luxury Egyptian cotton sheets and contain bathrooms warmed with underfloor heating. 25 of the bedrooms are lake facing and 12 are lovely garden view rooms; the hotel also contains two four-poster bedrooms and five suites all enjoying views across Lake Windermere
The hotel’s Belsfield Restaurant offers fine dining set against a backdrop of spectacular views over Lake Windermere and the fells beyond. Cumbrian produce features extensively on the menu which combines nouvelle cuisine and traditional British dishes.
Other impressive features introduced via the multimillion renovation include a glamorous cocktail bar and brasserie, an ornate drawing room and library, as well as state-of-the-art conference facilities. The hotel now also boasts a luxurious heated indoor swimming pool, gym and sauna all of which lie in six acres of beautifully landscaped gardens.
The Belsfield Hotel’s renovation, which has now been renamed ‘Laura Ashley The Belsfield Lake District, marks Laura Ashley’s second foray into the world of luxury hotels. ‘Laura Ashley The Manor Elstree,’ was the first of the brands ventures into the hospitality industry and saw the 49-bedroom timbered mansion house transformed in another impressive renovation project.
Laura Ashley The Manor Elstree sits in 10 acres of natural woodland with magnificent views overlooking Central London just 20 minutes away, opened in Hertfordshire. It was opened in July 2013, exactly a year before The Belsfield Hotel was reopened, and uses Laura Ashley products in each of the individually styled rooms.
Like The Manor, all of the decor at The Belsfield is available for guests to buy online from the Laura Ashley website. The Belsfield Hotel and Laura Ashley partnership has seen the creation of a successful licensing agreement in which Laura Ashley has provided its professional interior design service for a complete renovation of the hotel.
Situated in the resort town of Bowness-on-Windermere the hotel combines classic British elegance with a contemporary style and deluxe facilities providing the perfect hideaway hotel for leisure breaks, special occasions, weddings and civil ceremonies, private parties, meetings, events, team building and conferences. With facilities for up to 150 guests the venue provides unparalleled spaces which boast views of some of the most impressive scenery in the country. The six stylish conference suites offer great natural daylight, air-conditioning, free high speed Wi-Fi, and modern presentation equipment.
Those interested in experiencing the hotel’s double rooms, including breakfast for two, start at £150 per night in the summer season, with deals available from the autumn.
Andrew Clayton, CEO of Corus Hotels, said:
“We were privileged to be invited by Laura Ashley to manage their first hotel, The Manor at Elstree, and we were involved with this project from the design phase through to completion and launch.
“When Corus Hotels began planning the refurbishment of its Belsfield Hotel in Windermere, we immediately sat down with Laura Ashley to explore the potential for taking the concept to the Lake District. We entered into a commercial relationship with Laura Ashley to provide design services and to bring the hotel under the umbrella of the Laura Ashley Hotels brand.”
With reference to property’s impressive reception Andrew commented:
“In addition, we commissioned architects to design a modern, glazed reception building to fully exploit the views of Lake Windermere that the hotel enjoys from its prominent position overlooking the lake. The completed hotel not only looks beautiful inside and out, but we have taken the opportunity to install high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity, state-of-the-art presentation equipment in our meeting rooms, and less formal, fast check-in and out systems.
“Our guests will be able to enjoy everything that the most modern hotel has to offer the discerning leisure and business traveller, whilst staying in a fine Victorian building on the shores of Lake Windermere in rooms and suites designed by one of the most well -known and loved British brands.”
