Crafty Chooks, 10 Victoria Grove in Hove

Located at 10 Victoria Grove in Hove, Crafty Chooks is a bar and rotisserie specialising in delicious free range chicken and a great selection of craft beers.

Crafty Chooksā€™ rotisserie cooked chicken is the juiciest offering in town, supplied by local butchers, whilst the restaurantā€™s range of craft beers has been specially chosen to provide diners with good quality drinks that will soon become firm favourites.

Opened in May 2014, Crafty Chooks is the eighth venue from family-run pub company, Golden Lion Group and since opening has proved extremely popular with guests. Established in the early 1980s, the company has a varied portfolio which includes town centre and village pubs, restaurants and bars.

DesignLSM conceived the design concept for Crafty Chooks, whilst Barracuda Shopfitting Limited project managed and executed the build process. Barracuda Shopfitting Limited provided tradesmen and technical knowledge to take the concept from a 3D sketch to the finished product.

Established for more than 20 years, Brighton-based shopfitter, Barracuda Shopfitting Limited specialises in creatively driven bespoke design projects across the south coast and London. DesignLSM meanwhile, has been in operation for more than 25 years and is internationally recognised as an award-winning hospitality design practice, delivering innovative branding, architecture and interior design.

Speaking to Premier Hospitality about their involvement with Crafty Chooks, a spokesperson for Barracuda Shopfitting Limited, said:

ā€œBarracuda Shopfitting Limited has worked on a number of Golden Lion re-fits and enjoys a healthy business relationship with the local pub chain. The company has also worked with Design LSM previously, so the Crafty Chooks project was an opportunity to reinforce both long-standing relationships.

ā€œBarracudaā€™s involvement with the project is testament to what the company does best, reinvigorating tired premises and transforming them into contemporary, popular spaces.ā€

Crafty Chooks serves up a delightful menu which includes a range of starters, soups, sandwiches, salads and sides. Dishes include twineham grange and tomato rarebit bruschetta; deep-fried chicken and sweet potato beignets; sticky pork spare ribs; and soy and honey fried chicken.

The restaurantā€™s main menu includes the likes of 28 day aged 10oz rump steak; six hour braised shoulder of lamb; and craft beer steamed mussels. However, diners will definitely be drawn to the rotisserie offering, which includes either a half or whole chicken seasoned in smokey BBQ sauce, sweet BBQ sauce or spicy BBQ sauce.

As well as a choice selection of chicken and desserts, Crafty Chooks has a great selection of drinks, from craft beers such as the Freedom Four and the Hepworth Conqueror, to world beers like Heineken Extra Cold and Krusovice. Wines and spirits are also available, and for the more adventurous customer, a collection of classic cocktails is sure to please.
