Formed in 1947, Glass Designs is a third-generation company specialising in the manufacture, supply and installation of bespoke flat glass to the UK and Europe.

Based in Greenwich, the company primarily work within the leisure, retail and high-end residential sectors, but are more than capable of tackling any project that comes their way.

In addition to manufacturing flat glass, Glass Designs provides a wide range of bespoke glass products, including frameless showers, bespoke mirrors, glazed screens, glass wall cladding, coloured glass worktops, glass flooring and decking and UV bonded furniture & display cabinets.

Over the past 67 years, Glass Designs has worked on many prestigious projects including The Press nightclub and high-end residential development, Kingston Riverside for Redrow London. Glass Designs was involved with the Kingston project for 18 months, providing glass products to all the development’s bathrooms.

Most recently, Glass Designs manufactured and installed all the glass shower enclosures within 300 bathrooms at the Corinthia Hotel in London and is continuing to work with St. George’s – part of the Berkeley Group – to install a number of products, including shower screens and bespoke mirrors. Moving forward, Glass Designs is involved with retailer American Eagle, installing shop fronts to two of their retail units.

Working alongside architects and designers, Glass Designs has developed a range of products which serve both commercial and domestic environments. The GD Collection includes GD Antique, a range of antique mirrors and GD Laminate, a selection of laminated glass with or without decorative inter-layers. Rounding out the GD Collection is GD Aqua, a range of bathroom shower enclosures and vanity units and GD Chroma, a collection of tinted, coloured and translucent glass options.

This September, Glass Designs launched their latest line of products, the Earth Interiors Collection – a stunning collection of glass finishes. The glass is available in a range of different styles which have been expertly created either by incorporating materials within the glass or directly applying images onto the glass.

The Earth Interiors Collection – which was used within the Kingston Riverside development – is a unique collaboration between Glass Designs, Rebecca Disney of Fyrbox and photographer Richard Osbourne. The collection provides clients with a range of new possibilities to utilise glass within an interior; can include mesh, decorative fabrics or images; and is creating some truly imaginative interior designs.

Describing the Earth Interiors Collection, Glass Designs Contracts Manager, Alistair Berry, said:

“Although we launched the Earth Interiors Collection quite recently, we actually introduced the collection into the Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge, which we completed six months previous.

“The collection has also been used with the Kingston Riverside development where we printed high resolution images onto vinyl, to create a wood veneer effect within the glass. As it is quite difficult to use wood within a bathroom the Earth Interiors Collection provides the perfect solution for clients wanting a wood effect in this area of their property.”

With almost seven decades of experience in the industry Glass Designs has developed its expertise to provide the best service possible for all its clients. The company is capable of undertaking a range of core processes, including polishing, bevelling, brilliant cutting, silvering and sand blasting and is something which Alistair is very proud of.
