Completed in just four weeks in a fast track a project to transform the interior of a Grade II Listed 17th century building in North Hill, Colchester, is the brand new Middletons Steakhouse and Grill Restaurant.
The project to create the new Middletons, within what was previously an Italian restaurant, was a resounding success, with the contract team being commended as “A great team who did a great job in a short amount of time.”
Main contractors Ecsec worked alongside Devlin Design, with FWP as mechanical consultants and Bowling Garrard as electrical consultants.
Design highlights of the new 132-cover restaurant interior, which includes a main dining floor and extra seating for 32 covers on the first floor, include: custom designed and made black metal and mesh screens; a reconfigured kitchen with open pass allowing customers to watch their meals being prepaed; painted T&G wall panelling; a granite-topped bar with tiled front; vintage industrial style light fittings and furniture by Hillcross furniture.
Designer Clare Devlin of Devlin Design used a palette of materials including Brick, painted timber panelling, and custom/brand designed feature wallpaper.
Clare Devlin told Premier Hospitality:
“It has been great to work with an up and coming brand and not only is the client really happy with the end result, but the first few weeks of trading have a been a great success.
“It was a really enjoyable project to work on with a great team that did a great job in a short amount of time. I look forward to working with Middletons next year as they plan to expand further.
