Established in 1964, Scotwood Interiors Ltd specialises in the delivery of interior fit-out works for both new build and refurbishment contracts.
The company works within the commercial and industrial sectors, but has a strong focus on delivering high quality office projects.
Based in Glasgow, Scotwood Interiors Ltd is one of Scotland’s leading specialist interior fit-out contractors and this year the company celebrates its 50th anniversary. The impressive milestone not only demonstrates Scotwood Interiors Ltd’s commitment to the industry, but also its ability to build longstanding working relationships which has allowed the company to develop over time.
Over the past five decades the company has worked with a plethora of blue chip clients, including Motorola, National Semiconductor, Clydesdale Bank, Rolls-Royce and various Government Agencies, to name but a few. Meanwhile, recent schemes have included projects for Skyscanner, Radical Travel and most recently the FanDuel office project.
Scotwood Interiors Ltd Joint Managing Director, Jim Scott, said:
“Skyscanner is an online flight comparison website, so for this project we were responsible for the fit-out of the company’s headquarters in Edinburgh. The work involved kitting out three floors in Edinburgh and a further two floors for their office in Glasgow.
“Radical Travel is also a travel-related company, this time more geared towards the student market. This project for Radical Travel comprised the fit-out of a design & build project in Edinburgh. The company had moved out of its old office, so we had a short time frame to go in and complete the job. I’m pleased to say it ran without any problems.”
The FanDuel project completed in December and saw Scotwood Interiors Ltd deliver the fit-out works on FanDuel’s Edinburgh-based head office. FanDuel is a leading company which specializes in one-day fantasy sports, providing players with fast game play, fantastic prizes and unbeatable excitement.
Jim Scott, said:
“FanDuel is a relatively new company, specializing in gaming. We became involved with this particular project when FanDuel moved to the same office building as Skyscanner. FanDuel had seen the design and layout of the Skyscanner project and really liked it. In fact, Skyscanner ended up being a great marketing tool for us as it demonstrated perfectly what we can achieve within an office environment.”
In addition to its involvement on office projects, Scotwood Interiors Ltd has recently provided its services for a number of colleges, including Langside College, Cardonald College and Anniesland College in Glasgow. The projects were all successfully completed in late October.
“No two jobs are ever the same for us. We take on a range of jobs, from schemes which are in the value of £2,000, up to our largest project to date which was a £1.7 million scheme for Wolfson Microelectronics. On this particular project we provided a full fit-out, with M&E works and bespoke joinery.”
With 50 years in the industry, Jim is understandably proud of all that Scotwood Interiors Ltd has achieved.
“Celebrating 50 years is fantastic. Over the past few years we have seen the country hit by recession quite hard, but within our time in business we have come out of probably six or seven recessions. To maintain our business and keep our employment levels fairly static, in spite of the economic climate, has been a real feather in our cap and a real testament to the employees we have.
“A large proportion of our business is from existing clients and our staff turnover is very low. Our clients see the same faces coming to site each time and this is a real strength, which instils confidence with our company.”
