Radicals and Victuallers has recently opened in Islington improving the boroughs social scene with its quirky looks, great menu and rocking beats.
The venue comprises a new bar, diner and all-day-hang-out and is located on North London’s Upper Street.
The site used to be home to O’Neill’s Pub and the renovation project has seen the venue completely transformed into a sleek eatery-come-drinking den with a decent bar and sound system.
The venue serves up a mouthwatering selection of US diner classics including Snack & Share dishes, Smoked & Hot and Kicking Wings, Handmade Burgers, Salads, Mac N Cheese, Rack of Ribs and Hot Dogs.
Radicals and Victuallers offers diners the chance to climb The Stairway to Burger Heaven by choosing the base, patty, toppings and dips to their very own burger creation. The menu also boasts an array of pre-decided burger combinations including Fried Egg & Peanut Butter, Hippy Deluxe with Mushroom & Emmental, Burnt end chilli & cheese, Pulled pork & smoked chipotle jam, Shroomaloomi and Hippy houmous.
Mains can be followed with an all-American dessert list such as the Chocolate Brownie Sundae with mini marshmallows, Salted caramel & chocolate cheesecake or the mouthwatering Ice cream sandwich.
The venue boasts an impressive interior designed by Pembrook Design comprising a selection of reclaimed wood and curved banquettes seating. The L shaped venue includes laid back design touches which encourage diners to relax and enjoy the menu and drinks list.
A mixture of restaurant-style tables and high stools cater for all occasions including a post-work tipple to a full on feast. The courtyard al fresco area boasts a canopy of fairy lights and makes for an enchanting option for those willing to brave the frosty nights. Heaters have been installed to ward off the chilling nights ahead.
The beer list includes everything from much-loved London brews from Camden and Meantime and US ‘hits’ like Brooklyn Lager and Goose Island 312, as well as an extensive selection of world class wines, artisan spirits and house-made concoctions.
Radicals and Victuallers was unveiled to the public on Friday 14th November and will open during the festive season offering a two or three course sit-down menu and a more casual festive sharing platter for Christmas.
Tom Dudley is acting as the venue’s General Manager and will oversee the 170 cover space. The multifunctional venue is situated nearby Angel and Highbury & Islington stations.
