A new industrial unit which is a commercial vehicle repair and MOT testing centre for Truck and Plant Engineering Ltd, has just been completed at Moor Business Park, Ellough Road, Beccles, Suffolk.

The project was carried out for the Worlingham Property Company, owners and landlords of the business park. Main Contractors were Ovamill Building and Groundworks, who were commended for doing “an excellent job.” The Architect was Paul Tungate.

Kevin Cook, owner of Worlingham Property Company told Premier Construction:

“Ovamill did an excellent job on the project. We were very pleased with the new building and the new tenants are over the moon – they are really happy.”

The 1,008 square metre steel-framed building is constructed with external elevations in cladding, incorporating windows to the office area and rooflights to the workshop area, and a pitched cladding roof.

Internal facilities include an office, tearoom, storage area, toilets and a workshop incorporating an MOT brake testing pit with rollers and two more work pits – one of 8 metres and the other of 12 metres.

External works include the creation of a car park to the front of the building and a large concrete hardstanding area for parking and steam cleaning commercial vehicles, including HGVs.

“The park is now two thirds developed, with the first building being constructed in 1988 and development progressing steadily from then. Hopefully there will be another construction project starting soon on the business park,” said Kevin Cook.

The business park is accessed via electronic gates that are closed outside normal working hours and accessible only by tenants with a unique access fob. The site is also covered by 24 hour CCTV.

The Worlingham Property Company Ltd is a small family-run business who pride themselves on always giving their tenants the best personal treatment that only a small family company can offer and maintain throughout the life of a tenancy.

The first industrial unit on the Moor Business Park was used as a vehicle pre-delivery and inspection work shop for new Vauxhall cars and commercial vehicles, with the remaining five acres of land used for storage of vehicles.
