 Schuh

Set up in 1981 in North Bridge Arcade, Edinburgh, Schuh is an award-winning high street footwear retailer with stores nationwide.

Schuh’s simple philosophy, ‘to provide individual high fashion footwear, sold in a unique and exciting retail environment’, has been the company’s guideline for more than 30 years and is the reason why it continues to provide its customers with the best service possible.

Over the years Schuh has grown its business and in 2011, not only did the company launch its biggest ever ad campaign to celebrate its 30th anniversary, it also expanded into the American market. Meanwhile, back on home turf, the company updated its Milton Keynes and Dundee stores, as well as its Leeds, Glasgow and Manchester branches.

In 2012, Schuh opened 16 new stores and also launched Schuh Kids, the company’s first ever full range of footwear for kids. In the same year Schuh also launched three stand-alone Schuh Kids stores. Schuh Kids is a range of children’s fashion footwear suitable for both boys and girls, in sizes which range from size 0 through to youth size 5.

More stores followed in 2013, with the opening of 19 new stores, including units in West Bromwich, Wolverhampton, Hanley and Hull. New openings also took place in Kingston, Whitely, Carlisle, Basingstoke, The Gyle, Blackburn, Teeside, York, Marble Arch, Swindon, Canary Wharf, Jersey, Stirling and two Glasgow stores.

In 2013, Schuh Kids continued to develop a strong following on the high street, whilst also continued to make a name for itself in the industry. The relatively new brand picked up a gold award at the POPAI Awards.

Schuh had another great year in 2014, with more awards, this time in the shape of the Micros Grand Prix Golden Chariot Award for Delivery Excellence. In 2014, Schuh also opened new stores in Covent Garden, Nuneaton, Doncaster, Bexleyheath and in Birmingham’s Fort.

Schuh in The Fort opened with a strong line-up of products, from stylish new footwear to quirky and casual shoes. The store also boasted a range of accessories. By the end of the year, with the addition of the new stores including the Birmingham branch, Schuh’s retail stores had reached 100 units – a fantastic achievement for any retailer.

In addition to its range of retail units, Schuh also boasts an impressive online presence via its newly updated website. The website stocks a range of products and all are available for delivery throughout the UK.

Storage and handling specialists, Complete Storage Interiors (CSI Group) worked with Schuh when the retailer was looking for a storage solution at its southern distribution centre. Situated in West Bromwich, the distribution centre oversees the delivery of its online orders via a 24 hour service, so is a key aspect of the company’s business.

On this project, Schuh was looking for the right solution to cope with its online expansion and CSI Group were the ideal company to help them out. CSI Group – an approved Dexion Distributor – provided Schuh with a storage saving solution through the installation of a two tier HI280 shelving system, which met the needs of Schuh perfectly.

Schuh stocks a large range of famous brand shoes and trainers including Adidas, Converse, Timberland, Fred Perry, Dr Martens, Nike and Puma. In addition, Schuh also stocks a range of accessories, from bags and t-shirts to socks and of course shoe care products.
