Richard Robb Architects

Richard Robb Architects was set up in June 2000 by principle architect, Richard Robb. The practice operates from its base in Inverclyde working on a variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects.

The practice tends to focus on schemes located in Gourock, Greenock and Inverclyde but have worked on projects nationwide. Richard Robb Architects pride themselves on close client relations and quality architectural service including Design, Consultation, Feasibility Studies, Local Authority Applications, Measured Surveys and Project Management.

The firm has worked on a variety of commercial and industrial projects including Café Riva, Cappielow Stadium, The Chartroom, Fauld’s Park Industrial Estate, Fresh Bistro, Fort Matilda, Gourock Golf Club, Kip Marina Chandlery and The Cookschool.

The firm also specialise in residential projects including undertaking a comprehensive renovation project of a derelict ticket office into the traditional, but ultra modern, compact holiday home; Blairmore Cottage. The building was previously a ticket office for one of the Clyde steamer piers and offers its new owners stunning views over the River Clyde and Loch Long.

Another residential property the firm has revamped is Montgomerie Terrace in Ayrshire. The project saw a traditional coach house transformed with the existing garage outhouses being converted to allow independent yet integrated additional living accommodation.

Fresh Bistro

The practice was also instrumental in the creation of The Fresh Bistro, a subsidiary of Stepwell, located in The Oak Mall in Greenock. The venue offers customers a unique eating experience within a tastefully decorated interior with bare brick walls.

At the Gourock Golf Club Richard Robb Architects helped fully refurbish and alter the ground floor of the clubhouse including revamping the disabled facilities, locker rooms, shower/changing rooms and toilets. The project was competitively tendered and works were completed within programme and budget by local contractors WHK Kirkwood.

Richard Robb Architects re-located to its waterfront office in 2002 and now have an open plan office forming an airy and vibrant workspace to utilise.
