Wiltshire Council is the unitary authority for Wiltshire and has been involved with a number of prestigious projects over recent years.

At present Wiltshire Council is implementing the Salisbury Campus scheme, which is situated on the Five Rivers Leisure Centre. The campus is being constructed to provide numerous facilities for the local community, including services for young people and the Wiltshire Music Service.

The project marks the second campus to be delivered in the county by Wiltshire Council, following the first phase of Springfield Community Campus in Corsham.

Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for Campuses, Jonathan Seed, said:

“As with all our campuses, this has been shaped with the local community and when it is complete people will have easy access to a whole range of new and enhanced services in the way that the community have shaped them.”

Salisbury is one of 18 community campuses being developed by Wiltshire Council over the coming years. The project is currently scheduled to reach completion in autumn 2015.

Meanwhile, a project implemented by Wiltshire Council which reached completion in 2014 was the £5 million Tidworth Primary School project. The scheme comprised the construction of a two storey primary school situated in Tidworth, Hampshire to provide places for 420 pupils, in addition to 30 places for nursery school pupils.

Pupils from four to eleven attend the school, which has extensive facilities for children with Special Educational Needs. The school promotes an inclusive learning environment in which all pupils, including those with special or additional educational needs and those with disabilities are supported and enabled to make maximum progress.

Tidworth Primary School opened in September 2014 and contains state of the art teaching facilities, alongside playing fields, external games court, playgrounds and 30 car parking spaces. The construction of the school was a response to Wiltshire Council’s proposal to erect 1600 dwellings in the Tidworth community area.

The building is clad in facing brickwork and render, with a pitched roof and numerous security detection and alarm systems. The new primary school is housed on the site of the new housing development.
