Harmonix Construction are leading principal contractors with extensive expertise in the Residential, Hotel, Leisure, Warehouse, Storage and Commercial sectors.
Harmonix operate with a hands-on management style in a bid to meet every client’s specifications. The firm pride themselves on their attention to detail on every project and as a result receive a large volume of repeat business from satisfied clients. Positive relationships are always forged with customers, design teams and sub-contractors in order to deliver quality projects.
The firm has named the company Harmonix in order to illustrate their desire to work in harmony with clients and all members of the project team. They believe their success is due to a flat management structure and open lines of communication. Harmonix wanted to be different and were tired of the way many contractors were perceived by clients and so have worked hard to change that perception.
Since their inception the firm has worked with a plethora of high profile clients across numerous sectors. Clients include Quad Architects, MMP Design, The Colman Partnership, AWA, T P Bennett, The Royal Bank of Scotland, F & C Property Asset Management, Countryside Properties, Deacon & Jones, Optimum Property Management, Douglas Marriott Worby Robinson, Brand Leonard, Block Architecture and Charterhouse.
The firm acted as the principal contractor during the renovation of Great Marlborough Street from vacant office space into 10 luxury apartments. The £2 million project lasted 48 weeks and saw the buildings five upper floors converted and extended, a low level flat roof on an adjacent building repaired and recovered. Further works included upgrading the ground floor entrance corridor, the basement stairs and basement stair lobby.
The team constructed a temporary roof on the structure, removing the existing roof and then constructing a new floor to provide further accommodation whilst working on an extremely tight site. The site has now been completely transformed, with a new mansard roof adding on a floor and a single storey extension to the rear creating a stair extension from the third to fourth floor. The new 10 apartments are fresh and modern.
Harmonix have worked with Bicester Golf & Country Club and their interior designer to develop a Hotel, Restaurant and Orangery scheme. The £6million scheme took 40 weeks to complete and has seen the construction of a hotel with 52 bedrooms on two floors. The hotel adjoins to the existing club house at ground and first floor level and was successfully completed on time and to budget.
Harmonix has proven their ability to undertake projects within operational environments. In January 2013 the firm worked for clients F & C Properties on the residential unit Halton House installing a new floor, wall and ceiling finishes, as well as incorporating an architectural metal screen. The team, which comprised Lusted Green Architects and Design & Build JCT, also carried out a full lighting upgrade to the reception and lobby area. The £300,000 project was carried out carefully and sensitively in order to ensure none of the existing tenants were affected by the works.
Harmonix have also constructed The Courtyard for Countryside Properties which involved the erection of one single storey building to provide seven individual self-contained office units ranging from approximately 18460 square feet. The design of the offices allows units to be reconfigured to combine adjacent areas to form larger units if required.
The external areas were laid out so as to provide landscaped areas as well as a total of 57 car parking spaces on a site area of approximately 1.53 acres. The £2.66 million scheme took 27 weeks to complete and saw the site at Braintree Business Park expand.
