Dirty Martini, the brand known for being the perfect mix of spirit and sophistication, have opened their latest venue in Clapham after a nine week on site project.

The 300 cover venue provides a stunning, urban interior for guests to enjoy the brands bespoke range of Martinis and signature cocktails, as well as some of the city’s best DJ’s.

Premier Hospitality caught up with Alec Livesley, of Livesley Projects Limited, who acted as the project manager and main contractor on the scheme to find out more. Alec commented:
“We have worked with Dirty Martini since they opened their first venue and have completed all of their bars. I am very passionate about the product and have been involved with the design process, having handled the design meetings as well as overseen the construction works.

“Working with Dirty Martini for us is not just a case of being their contractor; we are always very involved in every element and love to see projects through from the start to finish.

“We have a great connection with the brand and will continue to work with Dirty Martini in the future. We are currently in the middle of working on two more projects with them.”

Dirty Martini replaces The Loft on Clapham High Street and has seen the space transformed from a sparse, warehouse into an urban, elegant cocktail bar. Situated in a first floor location the venue offers impressive views of the high street which are emphasised by the building’s glass frontage.

Working alongside Grapes Design, Livesley Projects began strip out works at the end of February this year. The team had to undertake lengthy sound proofing works including sound deadening matching works, fitting acoustic hangars, as well as assessing all of the existing ducting to achieve expected soundproof standards.

After the challenging sound proofing process had been completed the team carried out structural alterations to the space, before adding the finishing touches. Alec was aware that there was a strict amount of time to undertake each part of the works and so the team worked in line with tight deadlines to achieve the client’s objectives.

The venue, which opened on the 29th April, boasts a number of stunning interior design features adding to the urban theme of the space.

Main features include a unique 13 metre art piece on the ceiling, which is illuminated by a fitted lightbox called a barasol, and a stunning marble fronted with a brass inlay. Behind the bar a number of glass shelves have been fitted and lit with LED lights, as well as finished with ornate brass detailing, to showcase the bars plethora of spirits.

The seating in the venue comprises a number of loose furniture in front of the bar, as well as low level blue banquette seating to the left of the bar and a burnt orange banquette to the left. To the right of the bar the team have fitted detailed mahogany cabinets with laser cut, illuminated shelves again to show off the brands endless drinks offer.

The venue also boasts a plethora of luxurious curtains which highlights the views outside the building, as well as emphasising the impressive glass elements of the building.

The large bar adds a sense of class to the popular area, according to Alec, and is a “stand out” destination in Clapham.
