A £490,000 project to refurbish four university buildings at Headingly Campus in Leeds has been completed.

The programme saw J. Hempstock & Co work on two buildings at the same time, which required the doubling of labour force to ensure the programme was achieved as required.

The project comprised survey and inspection works, along with the rectification of the existing cast iron rainwater systems and the removal and replacements of the gutter systems using moulded powder coated aluminium guttering. The eaves of all buildings were stripped of slate and a new lead flashing was installed, all lead sheeting on the roof was replaced including pediments, barrel roof dormers and chimneys was also undertaken.

The works were carried out as subcontractor for Dimestage Construction and were completed within the programme and below budget.
