Hothrope Hall, a luxury conference centre in Theddingworth, Leicestershire, has opened The Woodlands as an alternative venue within its grounds after a nine month on site project.

The Woodlands comprises a function room, lounge bar, dining room, self-catering snugs, bedroomed lodges and an impressive luxury treehouse accommodation.

The multi-million pound development, situated between Lutterworth and Market Harborough, has been constructed by Blue Forest UK Limited, designed by Tate Harmer and project managed by Andrew Bridger Associates. Located in the wooded grounds of manor house, Hothorpe Hall, it provides a distinct alternative venue to the original Georgian manor house.

The Woodlands has been constructed in a previously unused area within the grounds of Hothorpe Hall and comprises a unique timber and glass-built structure, complemented by 23 en suite bedrooms within a series of quirky woodland lodges, snugs and a luxury elevated treehouse. The Snugs, which are modern log cabins, and the treehouse are the ideal location for short breaks.

Nicola Firth, Chief Executive of Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands said:

“We’re thrilled to have opened The Woodlands, which has been in the pipeline since 2013. It allows us to offer a quirky, modern venue, different to the historic Hothorpe Hall as well as welcome more customers due to increased capacity. Not only will it act as a venue for a range of event types, we’re also hoping to welcome guests on short B&B or self-catering breaks, which is something we’ve not previously been able to do. We’re pleased to have already taken bookings from big name brands who have booked The Woodlands for meetings and staff summer and Christmas parties.

“The opening of The Woodlands has created around 15 permanent and casual roles for local people and the construction phase employed the services of many nearby contractors. As The Woodlands business grows, we’re confident that locals will benefit from further employment and training opportunities.”

The Woodlands function room can accommodate around 60 people and opens up into the bar and lounge, if a larger space is required.

The new venue comprises a total of 23 bedrooms, with room for 54 adults and an extra 5 child-only beds. Two of the bedrooms have been designed to ensure wheelchair users can access and enjoy the facilities.

The five Snugs each contain two bedrooms and benefit from a central lounge area with comfy sofas, TV, kitchenette and dining table making it an ideal hub for families and groups of friends wanting to relax and enjoy the scenic surroundings.
