Dear readers,

Welcome to the latest edition of Premier Construction magazine.

In this month’s edition, we take a look at a number of projects, from Judge’s Court in York to a roof replacement scheme at the University of Edinburgh.

Judge’s Court offers those visiting York an ideal city centre haven to relax and unwind after a day enjoying the city’s major attractions. The Grade II Listed Georgian town house now comprises 15 bedrooms over four floors and has been thoroughly revamped after lying vacant for over a year. In this issue we speak to Oliver Redfern, who acted as the interior designer on the scheme to find out a little more about the project.

Oliver said:

“The brief was to design a faultlessly hip & stylish interior that exemplifies the evocative historic details of the Grade II listed Georgian town house and its unique past.”

Meanwhile, winner of the Single Ply Roofing category at this year’s NFRC National Roofing Awards, the roof refurbishment of the Joseph Black Building was an extraordinary project completed by BriggsAmasco. The Joseph Black Building, found in the King’s Buildings Campus at the University of Edinburgh, houses the School of Chemistry and as its roof had come to the end of its natural life, Summers-Inman Construction & Property Consultants were appointed by The University of Edinburgh to provide solutions for replacement works.

George Boag, buildings and operations manager for the University of Edinburgh, said: “All parties worked as a team and delivered great results, which were in keeping with the building’s heritage and we’re confident will last for years to come.”

In this edition of Premier Construction we also take a look at a number of award-winning NHBC projects, including Bermondsey Village, 92a Doods Road and the Old Coal Wharf, amongst others.

With all this and more, join us as we explore the impressive construction projects that continue to shape our landscape.
