Adding a wealth of new facilities, a project including the construction of an exclusive new hotel and spa, as well as a new function venue and the refurbishment of existing accommodation, is transforming The Cotswolds Club golf club in Chipping Norton.

The project is being managed by the club owners, assisted by the scheme’s interior designer Vicky Martin.

The Cotswolds club is a prestigious 18 hole, par 71 golf course playable all year round – as well as a venue for weddings, private functions, corporate team building events and corporate golf days, and is located in a picturesque setting at the gateway to the Cotswolds.

The impressive new 34 bedroom hotel is being constructed on a site adjacent to the golf club. The two storey hotel incorporates a spa on part of the second floor level, with the spa section having a mansard roof. The building’s second floor roof terrace with panoramic views will include an outdoor hot tub, a wellness area and an outdoor sauna.

The hotel bedrooms include 32 standard rooms and two suites (one of which is a bridal suite), with the ground floor rooms all having their own private terraces and around half of the upstairs rooms having private balconies.

The building is structured in steel and blockwork, with external elevations in a combination of cedarwood cladding and Cotswold stone.

Also under construction is a new link building between the club house and the new hotel. The building will have a pitched roof and will incorporate a corridor, toilets and storage on the ground floor and a 100sq m function room on the first floor. The function room will incorporate one brick elevation, with the remaining elevations being fully glazed, giving access to a balcony, to take advantage of views overlooking the surrounding golf course.

The function room, which can be divided into two by bifold doors, will be used as an additional dining room for the hotel, as well as for club members’ events, wedding parties, corporate functions and other occasions.

The project also involves the refurbishment of the lounge within the original club house to create a lounge area for the hotel guests, as well as a separate area for club members.

External works comprise the creation of a new 100 space car park, complete with landscaping, as well as new access to the hotel.

The project is due to be completed in September.
