Located in Shenley nr Radlett, Hertfordshire, twelve bespoke properties have been developed under the name of The Old Nursery.
Construction began during March 2012, with each phase being carried out individually. Griggs Homes managed to complete the project by September 2014, obtaining an NHBC award for their high standards in the process.
The cottage-style homes consist of ten houses ranging from 1200² to 1500² ft, offering three bedrooms, engineered hardwood flooring and fully tiled bathrooms. Made up of brick and block, the houses are traditionally constructed with clay tiled roofing and a traditional appearance. There are two luxurious five bedroom homes, which cover approximately 3300² ft and boast soft wood windows and doors, reinforced concrete basements and solid floors throughout.
All properties are equipped with high quality fixtures and fittings, designer German kitchens and aluminium sliding doors which open out onto the back garden. Surrounded by an eye-catching setting, all twelve homes offer a rear garden made up of lawns and patios, and attractive communal front gardens. Several properties include added extras such as detached garages and car ports.
The Old Nursery site was the first main development that Griggs Homes completed; therefore they were thrilled to receive the NHBC Pride in the Job Award.
Speaking to Ross Griggs, Director of Griggs Homes, we asked how it felt to receive the award:
“It is a milestone to achieve the award. A lot of work went into the development not just internally but also externally, so to be recognised for that is great. It took a lot of time and effort to ensure that the standards were where they should be.”\
“We’ve had a lot of positive feedback not just from the planners but also from the local community.”
