Nestled into the beautiful Jersey countryside on Route du Coin, La Haule, Hotel La Place is a stunning hotel offering a welcome stay in stunning surroundings.
The hotel is situated close to the harbour village of St Aubin and is conveniently placed within walking distance of shops, restaurants and bars.
Over the past three years, Hotel La Place has undertaken an extensive makeover which has seen key areas of the hotel upgraded and improved to provide guests with a more comfortable stay. During the works guest rooms were transformed – including the site’s self-catering cottages – and the hotel has benefitted from the introduction of a number of safety and security systems.
Hotel La Place Director, Stephen Thomas, said:
“When we bought the hotel it was clear that we need to do some work on it, as no money had been spent on it for quite some time. In this day and age people expect good quality accommodation as well as great customer service, so we wanted to ensure Hotel La Place could provide this.
“We have invested in the hotel, turning things around considerably over the past few years, but we have plans to continue developing the site in order to provide the best quality hotel possible.”
Work began on the project in 2012 with the refurbishment of a collection of luxury self-catering cottages. This aspect of the scheme was completed within a year and was quickly followed by the refurbishment of 40 suites, along with a number of associated works including the installation of new electrics system, a new boiler and fire alarm system.
In order to accommodate some of the work the hotel closed to the public for a short period of time, but where necessary, when the hotel reopened, guests were housed in rooms which were away from any areas of construction. Although the majority of the works are now complete on the hotel, Stephen has planning permission for five new suites and also plans to update the bar.
Discussing the importance of the project, Stephen said:
“This work has been absolutely essential. Guests expect good quality accommodation and that’s exactly what a hotel needs to provide. I’m a well-travelled man and I would be more than delighted to book into one of our rooms.”
Stephen added:
“The feedback that we are receiving on Trip Advisor is great, because at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what I say, it’s down to what the guests say after their visit. We get a great deal of repeat customers, with some staying at the hotel for up to a month and we get a lot of compliments from people regarding the improvements that have taken place since we initiated the refurbishment, which is simply fantastic.”
