New store for Magenta Living

Travis Perkins’ Managed Services has opened a new store in Birkenhead as part of £4 million deal with Magenta Living. The partnership and dedicated materials store is enabling increased repair and maintenance efficiencies as well as cost savings.

Under the five-year agreement, worth an estimated £2.5 million to £4 million per annum, Managed Services are fully responsible for Magenta Living’s repair and maintenance supply chain, and will create cost savings and improve efficiency for the housing association, which is the largest registered provider of affordable housing in Wirral.

Managed Services is able to reduce costs and increase efficiency by providing the right range of products at a better value, whilst also providing easy access to materials – freeing up Magenta Living’s repair and maintenance employees and contractors to work more efficiently on the 30,000 jobs undertaken by the housing association every year.

The dedicated store facility is located at St Mary’s Gate in Birkenhead and provides the housing association’s repair and maintenance staff with instant access to the materials they require.  Stocking all required heavy and light side materials, the new store replaces a previous smaller store and provides everything Magenta Living needs to maintain its properties in the local area. The new store includes office space, a communal kitchen and a dedicated delivery vehicle.

Geoff Muise, Operational Director at Magenta Living, commented on the partnership:

“We wanted to modernise our procurement and material supply operations, and so are delighted to partner with an organisation experienced in delivering value for money. The new Managed Services store is co-located at the same location as Magenta Living head office Partnership Building and it will greatly improve our materials delivery supply management across Wirral.  As well as enhancing our repairs and maintenance service, the cost savings and other efficiencies created as a result of this new contract will allow Magenta Living to offer our services to a wider geographical area and build more homes.”
