WJB Moore are a family-run construction company based in Ireland, with over 40 years of experience in the industry, specialising in all types of construction, but predominantly private housing – including new builds and refurbishment.
Phase One of their recent project, Belsize Road housing site, commenced at the end of 2013, and was complete in just 12 months. This development gained Jason Moore as Site Manager, an NHBC Award. This phase entailed the construction of 17 units, comprising a mixture of three and four bedroom properties. Traditionally built, the properties maintain a brick and block construction.
Premier Construction caught up with Jason Moore, Managing Director of WJB Moore, to ask a few questions on the company and the project. Jason commented:
“Our business is a family business, my father started the company and following this my brother and I continued, enabling my father to enjoy a semi-retirement. Currently we are close to finishing Phase Two of the Belsize Road housing site. The upcoming third phase will consist of constructing larger houses which we haven’t done before, covering around two and a half thousand square feet.”
The value of the first phase totals 1.5million, and with charming gardens to the front and rear, these stunning properties will surely offer something special to a number of families. There was also a number of various exterior finishes on the development, carried out by WJB Moore.
The company prides itself on completing homes to the client’s individual requirements, offering a wide range of options for fit out, kitchens and electrics. Clients can select a choice of tiles, bathroom taps, paint colour, carpets etc. thanks to WJB Moore’s ideal tailoring system. Units include tiled bathrooms and flooring on the ground floor, except living rooms which are usually carpeted, depending on the client request. Alan Patterson Design worked on the architectural aspects of the development.
Stylish, hi-tech integrated music systems are also being incorporated within the properties, currently with a focus on kitchen and living room areas, with a possibility of extending into further rooms in the future, creating an entertainment system that covers the entire house.
Jason told us:
“The most attractive part of the job is that we aren’t just creating the same, repetitive design of houses over and over again, no two houses are the same! Also there is a lot of management and time required to ensure houses are delivered to the highest standards, and having the right team onboard always helps.”
With regards to the NHBC Award that Jason and his team earned themselves, Jason proudly commented:
“It is really nice to have the recognition for everybody’s hard work, and a way of knowing that we are all carrying out the job exactly how we should be.”
