Scottish construction company Pacific Building are celebrating their birthday by giving away tranches of cash to 10 worthy causes – the donations representing the number of years the firm have been in business.

They have also hosted a grand party for staff, clients and friends and taken 10 long-serving employees away on an adventure trip to the Austrian Alps. And as the Renfrewshire company’s order book fills up thanks to new projects for big-name clients McDonald’s, Gleneagles Hotel, Tesco, Glasgow International Airport and Arnold Clark, among others, staff members are looking forward to another 10 years in business.

Pacific managing director Brian Gallacher, who established the business in 2005, said:

“Although it was always going to be an important moment for us, we didn’t want to just celebrate our 10th anniversary by lighting a few candles on a cake – we wanted to display a genuine and lasting gratitude for that success.

“So we decided to make donations of £500 to organisations or individuals who, we thought, were particularly deserving.”

As a result, cash gifts were made to deserving causes that are local to the business – ROAR for life, Reaching Across Mental Health, Funding Neuro, Renfrewshire Carers, St Vincent’s Hospice, Accord Hospice, Finding Your Feet, Quarriers, Kibble Works and a school pupil who is carrying out community development work in Peru.

Pacific, who employ 25 people at their headquarters in Hillington, near Glasgow, have a hard-won reputation as a fast fit-out and construction company who can operate in a diverse array of sectors, from leisure to retail to international airports.

As an illustration of Pacific’s meteoric success, Brian highlights the firm’s turnover, which grew from £775,000 in 2005 to £10million last year and a projected £12,500,000 for 2015/2016.

He added: “This is all the more remarkable given that our growth has been achieved against the backdrop of a massive worldwide economic downturn sparked by the banking crisis in 2008.

“We’re proud to deliver high quality, and our business is built on the strength of our relationships with our clients – global and UK brands. Now we have forged different but equally valuable relationships with worthy organisations.”

Pacific hosted a grand party for more than 100 guests at Oran Mor in Glasgow on June 27 to mark the occasion of their birthday.

This followed a high-octane, all-expenses-paid trip to Zell am See in Austria for the company’s 10 longest-serving employees during which they took part in a number of adrenaline-pumping activities.

Pacific are now working on a number of key projects for their client roster, including two new-build McDonald’s restaurants in Scotland, worth in excess of £3million, the fit-out of restaurants for supermarket giants Tesco and a makeover programme for motor dealers Arnold Clark.

Brian added: “Unlike the majority of building companies who focus on fit-out OR construction, we are proud to provide fit-out AND construction services – both to the highest standards.

“We work within a variety of sectors, such as commercial, leisure (encompassing hotels, licensed premises and restaurants) and retail – and we have a wealth of experience of operating in sensitive and secure locations, including airports.

“We deliver to the highest professional benchmarks and at the same time demonstrate that our company is built on innovation, dedication and dependability.

“Our prestigious client base includes some of the UK’s biggest names as well as world-renowned companies, and our success is founded on the strength of our relationships with our clients, which frequently brings us repeat business.”
