London’s highly acclaimed social ping pong entertainment concept, Bounce, has opened its doors to its second venue in Shoreditch on 5th October, following the resounding success of its flagship venue in Farringdon.
Located just 80 yards east of Old Street roundabout, the new venue houses 17 bespoke ping pong tables, as well as a stunning private room that holds three tables for those who want seclusion.
450 guests attended the lively Bounce Shoreditch VIP launch party on 1st October, including recently engaged diver Tom Daley, footballer Adebayo Akinfenwa and actress Brooke Kinsella. Guests and the media were treated to a UV graffiti spectacle, deluxe drinks, dining and tunes spun by DJ Mighty Atom and Jules Critchley. Bounce’s Games Makers and staff were also dressed in full UV morphsuits which added to the high energy vibe and fun atmosphere.
With the venue’s cutting-edge anarchic graffiti style juxtaposing its plush furnishings, the design of the space conveys something unique and fun, whilst exposing the urban heritage of the local area. It also has all the classic Bounce design elements, taken from the authentic heritage of ping pong as a high society parlour game. Take this, alongside iridescent UV installations across the entire space, and guests are presented with a completely immersive design experience.
An impressive and enchanting ‘Gin Palace’ inspired cocktail bar is also situated amongst the ping pong tables, with innovative cocktail menus developed by award-winning mixologists. Cocktails are inspired by the local area and history of the game of ping pong. Bounce also offers a premium spirit range, including a spectacular variety of quality gin brands.
Built for groups, the team at Bounce treats every booking as a bespoke event, offering social ping pong at its finest, with each table accommodating up to 20 guests around a table, and a full table service throughout. Guests can also take the option of an accompanying restaurant booking if they wish to dine seated.
Bounce Shoreditch boasts a state-of-the-art open-plan restaurant with a traditional 25-foot pizza counter, serving the finest in traditional Italian pizzas, alongside a delicious selection of antipasti, canapés and more. Its innovative menu features high-quality food sourced from the finest British and Italian suppliers.
Mouth-watering dishes on the a la carte menu include sharing bites such as goat’s cheese and caramelised red onion pizza bread, Sorrento mixed olives and rosemary and garlic potato wedges with gorgonzola may dip. A range of starters are available such as buffalo mozzarella served with tomatoes, olives, pine nuts and wild rocket, and smoked ham hock Tuscan broth with warm tomato focaccia.
Delicious main dishes on the a la carte menu include grilled sea bass with lobster bisque and samphire, pan fried Label Anglais chicken breast, Tuscan beans, squash, tomatoes and tarragon; and braised Hereford ox cheek served with sweet and sour cabbage and smoked garlic ciabatta.
Adam Breeden, CEO and co-founder of Bounce, said:
“Our second venue is a very exciting step for us as we grow the Bounce brand and add to Shoreditch’s eclectic offerings. The amazing success of the launch party and the fantastic reception we received sets the precedent for more exciting times to come for Bounce.”
With the creation of Bounce Shoreditch spanning over two and a half years, the £3.5million project encompassed an investor line-up including PR man Matthew Freud, Zoopla’s Alex Chesterman and Zetter Group’s Mark Sainsbury. Bounce is also due to open its first international venue in Chicago in early 2016, with further planned openings in the US and Asia.
