Soho’s newest hotspot opens
Soho’s newest hotspot, designed by Russell Sage Studio, 100 Wardour St is a new restaurant, bar and music venue located on the site of the legendary Marquee Club.
The project to create the new venue, which opened in January 2016, was carried out for D&D London. Main Contractors were WFC Contractors.
Set over two floors, with an all-day restaurant, lounge and cocktail bar situated on the ground floor, the venue features a second restaurant space on the lower ground floor. The lower ground floor also features live music performances and special guest DJs in the evenings.
Most recently the building was the home of Latin American club Floridita and Pan-Indian restaurant Carom. In its previous life as the Marquee Club, headline acts included Fleetwood Mac, who both made their London debut performances at the club.
The newly appointed Executive Chef is Liam Smith-Laing, previously Head Chef at La Petite Maison in Istanbul and prior to that at Skylon in London. His menu offers modern European and Mediterranean cuisine with a twist.
100 Wardour St boasts a total capacity of 425 covers for dining and 872 for events.
Open from breakfast right through until the small hours, the lounge is a haven of great coffee, tasty snacks and Wi-Fi, for those who need to escape the office.
And once the sun goes down, a short, sharp cocktail menu ensures it’s the ideal space for after-work drinks.
Down in the basement, the venue draws on its heritage as the historic Marquee Club with a vibrant live music programme, plush booths, bottle service and that all-important late licence.

D&D stands for Des (Gunewardena) and David (Loewi), who led the buyout of Conran Restaurants in September 2006.
Since then the restaurant group has gone from strength to strength, opening new restaurants both abroad and within the UK in London and Leeds.
In 2012 they opened the first D&D hotel – South Place Hotel between Liverpool Street and Moorgate in the City of London.
