Woburn Safari Park – A wild reopening
The Safari Lodge at Woburn Safari Park in Bedfordshire has reopened following an extensive internal and external renovation. The site – just an hour from London, Birmingham, Oxford and Cambridge – now presents a newly-redesigned venue, intended to maximise the space and opportunities for visitors.
Situated at the heart of the animal enclosures of the Foot Safari, the new venue offers organisers a flexible space for meetings and events, irrespective of the occasion. The venue would also be ideal for celebratory occasions too, such as birthdays, family days out and anniversaries, for those who wish to enjoy the festivities amongst the safari’s beautiful animals.
Overlooking Swan Lake and the Desert Springs meerkat habitat, the Safari Lodge combines stunning panoramic views with attractive décor, stylish luxury furniture, state-of-the-art audio visual equipment and an extended decked veranda. With a capacity of up to 300 guests, the venue has been specifically designed to add an adventurous spin to corporate functions and product launches, team building experiences, company away days and conferences. The versatile space can be divided into two, transformed into a boardroom, set up as a theatre, a reception or a barbeque offering on the veranda.
Excitingly, guests can get involved and take part in the wild guest experiences – in place to enhance events – and these can be tailored for various corporate and private functions. Guests can choose from unique VIP experiences to encounter the animals up close; thrilling Go Ape adventures and ‘Safari Survival’ team building activities.
The memorable Safari Off Road Adventure VIP Experience is something spectacular, adding a new dimension to any event. Guests are given the chance to travel through the park in a Land Rover with an experienced ranger, meeting the carnivores in the Lion Park, as well as the captivating monkeys in the African Forest reserve, and critically endangered animals such as the striking Eastern mountain bongo. The ranger will provide in-depth commentary about the animals’ names, characters and personalities, and propose a behind the scenes visit to one of the new animal houses.
‘Go Ape’ at Woburn Safari Park is perfect for thrill seekers – guests can take part in a high wire treetop adventure, providing a great sense of exhilaration. Delegates receive a full safety briefing prior to embarking on a course of rope bridges and swings, and treetop obstacles before flying down the zip wires in the woodland of Woburn Safari Park.
‘Safari Survival’ team building allows participants to experience the team building adventure game and face various wild challenges in the Foot Safari as they are greeted by some of the superb wild residents there. Participants compete in small teams by completing a mixture of trials with the animals.
Visitors can also enjoy other event experiences including Up Close Encounters with penguins, meerkats, birds of prey or lemurs. The park boasts additional space for companies that might be looking to include a large marquee, outdoor activities or a larger product display area.
