Orée – An authentic taste of France

Oree

This month, French style boulangerie and kitchen Orée will open on the Fulham Road, London – bringing a taste of the boulangeries and patisseries of rural France to West London. Orée will offer freshly baked viennoiserie, artisan bread and fine patisserie, alongside an array of breakfast dishes, salads and coffees, to eat-in or takeaway.

Oreè is the first UK based venue from French businessman Laurent d’Orey, whom has 25 years experience in wholesale and retail.

To keep up with the increasingly popular wellness trend and heightened allergy awareness in London, Orée will also cater for those looking for healthier alternatives, with a unique selection of gluten-free breads.

Baking will be at the heart of the new venue, with all of Orée’s bread kneaded and freshly baked daily, on site, in the impressive in-house, glass-fronted 2.5 tonne deck oven and open boulangerie kitchen.

Aesthetically pleasing, the patisserie counter will appeal to all senses, delivering beauty and decadence in the form of its presentation, scents and flavour. The counter will feature the French classics including Croissants, Pains aux Chocolats and Escargot aux Pistaches, all made with traditional sourdough as well as Cannelés, Flan, Financiers, and Kugelhofs.

Also available to customers is the range of more traditional British options such as scones with jam and clotted cream, and cheesecake. Customers who are looking for something more contemporary can discover the innovative range introduced by Sebastien, which includes Matcha and Raspberry Tea Cakes and Lemon and Yuzu Meringue Tartelettes, all baked daily on site.

Executive Head Chef Sebastien Charrier and Head Bakery Chef, Olivier Malebrera have worked closely with renowned artisanal experts, from Nantes in France, using a selection of 20 specialist French flours to produce several unique recipes exclusive to Orée, and inspired by places all over the world. 12 various types of bread will be served including Rye, Sourdough, Buckwheat, Nordic and Japanese.

Diners can opt for both hearty and healthy options at breakfast and brunch, ensuring there is something on the menu for everybody. Light and healthy foods include Chia Pudding with seasonal fruits, white egg omelette, and dairy-free coconut yoghurt with granola and honey. For those wishing to indulge, waffles, eggs Benedict and eggs Royale are just some of the tempting treats on offer.

Lunchtime gives customers the opportunity to choose from an assortment of tartines topped with both French and British classics. The Executive Chef has devised a range of salads that will be accompanied by fresh Orée bread, in addition to savoury quiches, cheese and charcuterie sharing platters, and delicious homemade soups.

Coffee will be supplied from renowned London coffee roasters Climpson & Sons, whilst Parisian tea suppliers, Kusmi, will supply Orée with a variety of teas to suit all tastes. Dairy free milk options will also be available as well as freshly squeezed fruit juices.

Reflective of the tradition that France is renowned for, Orée’s interiors include stunning white marble-top tables and surfaces that promote sophistication and clean lines, complemented by pale blue and gold branding and gold leaf signage, hand-painted by Lucien Helle – France’s last practicing traditional ornamental glass artist. Exposed white-washed brickwork and large glass display counters gives Orée an open and airy feel, making it the perfect place for relaxing, enjoying a coffee with friends, or indulging in pastries.
