The Limes Country Lodge Hotel

Limes

The Limes Country Lodge Hotel, located in Earlswood, Warwickshire, is a privately owned hotel and restaurant that also accommodates conferences, events and weddings.

Situated in over six acres of breath-taking countryside, the hotel presents a picturesque landscape perfect for escaping the hardships of daily life, or as the ideal backdrop for a wedding to remember. A stunning lake was crafted into the grounds to add to the beauty of the site, creating something magical.

The bedrooms that were converted from what was formerly a cottage onsite reflect an Olde Worlde theme, in keeping with The Limes Country Lodge Hotel cottage feel. However the extension features five new bedrooms and these were fashioned in a contemporary and minimalist manner. These new rooms feature the latest hi-tech facilities and large en-suite bathrooms.

All rooms boast modern 40-inch satellite televisions, high quality mattresses and complimentary Wi-Fi to ensure that every guest has an enjoyable and comfortable stay at The Limes.

David Morris, Owner of The Limes Country Lodge Hotel, told Premier Hospitality:

“We built an extension to increase the bedroom numbers, and we also carried out a refurbishment to the existing bedrooms to update them and bring them up to modern standards.

“I also spent over £100,000 on a comprehensive overhaul of the grounds including building a lake and associated landscaping.

“When we first began on The Limes Hotel ten years ago it was a four bedroomed farmhouse with associated accommodation – there were no breakfast rooms or any of the facilities it now has. So what I have done is subsequently convert it to 18 bedrooms, with a reception lounge, a bar lounge, a fully-fitted commercial kitchen, The Orchard suite (which is a function room that can accommodate for up to 140 people), a marquee that attaches to the back of that, an outside Captain’s Bar, a large barbecue and hog roast area, a licensed wedding lodge, offices and a separate laundry room.

“The car parks have also been reconstructed which has trebled the amount of cars that can be parked outside the hotel. I also put in a 12-speaker Bose sound system all around the grounds, in addition to cameras.”

The Orchard restaurant and suite is named after the hotel’s very own apple orchard and is a relaxed, ambient setting with a baby grand piano and sultry mood lighting. The restaurant’s Head Chef has previous experience at two Michelin starred restaurants and has worked with renowned chefs Marco Pierre White and Gordon Ramsey.

A range of dishes feature on the bistro menu including starters such as fresh soup of the day, salmon and smoked mackerel fish cake and scallops with bacon, black pudding and minted pea puree. Delicious mains include pan fried sea bass with scallops and tiger prawns; stuffed roast pepper and beef tomato, stuffed with a mushroom risotto; and shoulder of lamb pot roast served with horseradish mash. A variety of pub favourites are available as well as options from the grill and a children’s menu. Afternoon Tea and Sunday Lunch options are also available for diners and guests.

David added:

“I was always keen to own a hotel and when I bought The Limes I said it will take me ten years to get the hotel to where I want it to be – ten years on and I’m almost there. I love it and I really enjoy getting involved in the whole hospitality side of things and it is very satisfying to see everything unfold after the challenges that I have faced.”

David revealed:

“I’m about to embark on my next project, so this year I’m going to apply for planning permission to get the approval, and next year we will build it, followed by consolidating it. I have a series of ongoing projects and that’s the way I work with this hotel.

“I bought the hotel ten years ago and I had a vision in mind; I’m probably at about 75% of where I want it to be. My vision is to get it to 40 bedrooms, with a separate a la carte restaurant, a wet room and a spa treatment space.”
