Ardent Continues One Call's Relationship With Kubota
Written by Amy

Ardent Hire Solutions, formed through the amalgamation of One Call Hire and Fork Rent, has chosen Kubota as one of their first suppliers in its £100m investment programme.

One Call Hire was a customer of Kubota for many years before Ardent was formed, and now the new company is continuing that relationship with the purchase of 60 new Kubota mini-excavators, as part of a £100m investment in new plant and equipment.

About Ardent
Ardent was created by former Speedy CEO, Steve Corcoran, with financial backing from Searchlight Capital Partners and Duke Street Capital. The buy-out brought together the assets of One Call Hire and Fork Rent, creating one of Britain’s biggest plant hire companies.

The move also brought together a highly experienced team, including former One Call and Fork Rent management. Today the business is being driven forward by the experience and expertise of Ardent Chairman, Greg Fitzgerald, the current non-executive Chairman of FTSE 250 house builders Galliford Try.
With unrivalled industry experience, and one of the largest and youngest fleets in the industry, Ardent has set its sights on becoming Britain’s premier plant hire company within the next few years.

Working with Kubota
Ardent was launched with an impressive £100m investment campaign to fund new plant and machinery, and chose Kubota for one of its first purchases. Kubota was delighted that their delivery of the first 20 Kubota U17-3α excavators in February, from the total order of 60, were the first machines to carry the all-new Ardent branding.

“One of the four pillars of Ardent is reliability,” explained Ardent Group Commercial Director, Tom Gleeson. “We are keen to work with suppliers who have proven themselves in the field, and Kubota have never let us down, either with their equipment or their customer service.

“Kubota is a trusted supplier of dependable, reliable excavators and Ardent is pleased to continue with this relationship as we invest £100m to create the UK’s youngest and best specified hire fleet.”
Dave Roberts, Managing Director of Kubota UK, said: “We have a long standing relationship with One Call Hire and, with the merger with Fork Rent, to see this develop into a new company is very exciting. Ardent Hire Solutions has big ambitions to provide industry-leading equipment and the supply of our mini-excavators is a great step towards that goal. We look forward to what the future holds as we work closely with Ardent Hire Solutions.”
