The Ivy Café, Wimbledon Village

Ivy Café

The Ivy Café, Wimbledon Village, opened on the 1st June and offers a warm, convivial atmosphere with accessible all-day dining for those living, working and shopping in the area.

Approximately 120 covers make up the ground floor restaurant, boasting a stunning garden dining terrace that sits adjacent and offers a sense of intimacy. For an exclusive experience guests can also make use of the private dining room, seating up to 20 guests.

An all-day casual café-style menu offers breakfast, elevenses, lunch, light snacks, afternoon tea, cocktails, weekend brunch and dinner, ensuring there is something on offer for every occasion and celebration. Dishes include The Ivy Café’s shepherd’s pie; chicken liver parfait with caramelised hazelnut, cherry and Szechuan pepper compote and toasted ciabatta; and lobster risotto with fennel, lemon and tomato.

A dedicated weekend brunch menu features a range of delicious alternatives to the mid-week á la carte for a taste of something different.

The menu also features a selection of tempting cocktails, including some classics with a twist, all concocted by The Ivy Collection’s Executive Bar Manager, Jeremy Evans. Highlights from the drinks menu include The Ivy Café Royale (hibiscus gin, sloe infusion, rose water, Crémant d’Alsace); and London Spritz (Earl Grey gin, lemon and orange oleo-saccharum, Cocchi Americano, Prosecco, soda).

The critically-acclaimed Martin Brudnizki Design Studio is responsible for the restaurant’s interiors, as with its sister site The Ivy Café Marylebone. Design features include an antique pewter bar, charming pendant lighting, marble floor tiles and a mixture of caramel-coloured leather banquettes and burnt orange leather bar stools – all combing to create a stylish, yet laid-back environment for all-day dining.

Vibrant and rich in warm colours, the interiors display an inviting setting with various patterns and décor. An eclectic mix of colour, pattern and styles has resulted in an interesting design to catch the eye of customers.

Ideal for those who wish to dine al fresco, the beautiful garden terrace is hidden away at the back of the restaurant on the ground floor, bringing a sense of allure and mystery.

Ivy Café

Known as The Danby Room, the private dining room is situated above the main restaurant on the first floor, seating up to 20 guests and offering a variety of menus created specially by The Ivy Collection’s Executive Chef, Sean Burbidge. The Danby Room pays homage to Wimbledon House, the residence of The Earl of Danby in 1678, with attractive artwork depicting this famous house and gardens featured throughout the private dining space.

Versatile in nature, the private space is equally suited to private parties and celebrations, as it is to corporate breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The menus are seasonal and accessible and the room is comfortable and intimate; providing the perfect environment for socialising and entertaining friends, family and clients in the endlessly-desirable Wimbledon Village.

A remarkable system that The Ivy Café Wimbledon Village has in place is holding back a proportion of tables for walk-ins, enabling locals to drop in at their will from dawn till dark seven days a week. The Ivy Café, Wimbledon Village, is the most recent venue from The Ivy Collection – a group of restaurants, brasseries and cafés, offering accessible, all-day dining throughout the entire week.

The Championships, Wimbledon have been an annual highlight of the British sporting calendar since they first appeared in 1877. In celebration of this year’s Championships, The Ivy Café, Wimbledon Village served up a selection of summer tennis specials which were available until the 11th July.
