This Month in Premier Construction 23.3

Welcome to the latest edition of Premier Construction magazine.

In this month’s edition, we take a look at numerous NHBC award-winning projects, including the superb One Tower Bridge; we unveil Arnold Lodge; and we showcase Battersea Arts Centre.

One Tower Bridge is located at one of the last great riverside sites in London and offers the epitome of five-star luxury living, with breathtaking views of Tower Bridge, the River Thames and the Tower of London. The development is made up of eight unique buildings, each designed to complement the existing architecture and includes a mix of luxury apartments, restaurants, retail units and more.

Meanwhile, Nottinghamshire Healthcare is celebrating the completion of a seven year programme of refurbishment at Arnold Lodge, its medium secure unit in Leicester, with the final phase of works, Phase 3, being completed in March 2016. The £4.5m project has seen changes take place within the Male Mental Illness Service, which now has three wards offering modern, purpose built accommodation and facilities which complement the care and treatment provided, whilst complying with national medium secure standards.

And finally, located on Lavender Hill, London, Battersea Arts Centre has been renovated and modernised to provide all of the necessary facilities for theatre shows and much more. Renovation works commenced on the large building in 2007, with the final phase taking place from 2014 and due for completion this summer. Gilbert Ash is the main contractor and HaworthTompkins is the architectural practice on the project.

Imogen Long, Architect at HaworthTompkins architects, said:

“The building needed a lot of work to ensure that Battersea Arts Centre could continue as a viable organisation in the future and it’s really great to see a lovely old building continue in a new light.”

With all this and more, join us as we explore the impressive construction projects that continue to shape our landscape.
