Kenwick Park Hotel

Situated in Lincolnshire, the new £4.5 million Club Spa at the Best Western Kenwick Park Hotel introduces a great sense of luxury and style to the hotel. Offering a little haven for those who wish to indulge, relax and rejuvenate, there are numerous modern facilities for guests to experience.

With brand new state-of-the-art equipment, the gym and spa has been rebuilt due to the occurrence of a terrible fire towards the end of 2014. Following a 14-month rebuild that commenced at the beginning of 2015, the leisure facility opened on 8th June 2016.

Stuart Flynn, Managing Director of Kenwick Park Hotel and the Club Spa, told Premier Hospitality:

“The feedback on the new spa and gym has been fantastic! We have quite a big leisure club membership and people who have visited the spa and stayed overnight in the hotel lodge have all made very positive comments on the new spa and gym, including the quality of the equipment and the design.”

Walking through the entrance, the ground floor presents the vibrant gym area with the latest advanced equipment. Moving on, a spacious lounge dining area allows members to sit and wind down after a workout or enjoy a bite to eat if they wish.

Two studios are located upstairs with various classes taking place from Pilates to Zumba and many more, as well as there being a modern spinning studio in place. The most prominent feature of the entire rebuild is the inspiring octagonal wet space with a 20m x 8.5m pool, a baby and toddler pool and the indoor 3m Jacuzzi. There is also an outdoor hydrotherapy pool, perfect for days with the warmer weather.

To the side of the indoor main pool, there is a stylish thermal experience suite including five different rooms: the sauna, steam room, foot spa, tepidarium and ice room.

Upstairs provides a lovely little lounge for those who attend the spa to congregate, surrounded by ten treatment rooms with separate changing facilities. Ladies can access the pool from these changing facilities via a very chic spiral staircase, acting as a fantastic focal design feature within the building.

Stuart said:

“We went for modern, bright finishes in the lounge spaces whereas the wet areas feature more of a relaxed design scheme, with a fantastic octagonal wooden ceiling which people can see when they are swimming. This was created with a firm in Nottingham known as Hunter Douglas, creating this incredible expansive ceiling.”

In comparison to the former gym and spa facilities, the rebuild offers a more spacious and modern area, taking up the ground floor and the entire first floor.

Stuart added:

“The biggest challenge was probably rebuilding the site to the specifications for 2016 as the original building was built in 1994. Times have changed and the demand for particular facilities and such has changed from what it was then, so it was challenging bringing it up to date and creating something ultramodern, engaging and following the trends of up-to-date demands.

“We have a very long waiting list for the memberships, demonstrating how popular the new spa and gym is!”
