MeatUp

MeatUp is an authentic restaurant serving a distinctively British menu all day long – bringing bubbles, beats and a new flavour of British BBQ to Wandsworth Town.

Sachin Khanna (formerly of Raffles and Libertine) is the seasoned owner and local resident of MeatUp, and has incorporated some of his best memories into the restaurant in order to give it an individual twist. The idea spurred from Sachin’s adoration for hosting parties where delicious food made with the finest ingredients and well-made drinks are enjoyed with friends.

On the menu is premium-aged steak, fresh lobster, shellfish, ribs and burgers, alongside a range of lighter on the stomach options. Everything is cooked fresh and served simply – hot and packed with flavour.

Bubbles and beats will accompany guests, and the late night party lovers will be welcomed with live music and DJ’s and a floor to ceiling bar, effortlessly taking guests from daytime dining to night time drinking. Whether you prefer Bibendum sourced Prosecco, craft beers from Meantime Brewery or classic cocktails – MeatUp has got you covered. It has everything you could ever want from a summer BBQ and is not restricted by the notorious British Weather. There’s food, drink and tunes all under one roof.

And the roof it’s under has been faultlessly designed by Keane Designs – most commonly recognised for their work on Burger & Lobster and Manchester House. The bare brick and repurposed materials give MeatUp an urban feel that channel downtown Manhattans industrial flare.

Designed to be a fully immersive space with an electric atmosphere, the venue has been separated into a dining room with a glass atrium that houses head chef kitchen counter seating and communal dining on a large bespoke communal table, as well as a bar area with counter top seating and outside seating, too.

A main attractive feature the restaurant has is bi-folding front doors, to open the space up into a more communal area for summer days combining indoor and outdoor catering.

The project was a challenging one, however. Being an old Asian cuisine restaurant previously, the building had poor ventilation and dark rooms. To transform this into a light welcoming space was fairly difficult. However senior interior Designer Tres Stone said it was still an extremely enjoyable project to be a part of:

“MeatUp has an atmosphere that you wouldn’t normally expect – it has that extra edge that combines night and day to create a timeless establishment. A great project to be a part of.”
