Utopia Spa at Rowhill Grange
Rowhill Grange Spa is excited to announce their fresh-faced new look Utopia Spa – now open for guests to adore. The £250,000 investment has been spent on two new luxurious treatment rooms, a brand new bespoke hair spa, a modern nail spa, a new relaxation room, beautiful new changing rooms, treatment waiting area, and an expanded spa retail shop.
Hidden deep within the heart of the Kent countryside, the Rowhill Grange Hotel showcases 15 acres of beautifully manicured grounds and gardens, 38 individually designed luxury bedrooms, a two AA Rosette awarded fine dining restaurant and of course an award-winning Utopia Spa.
The main contractor for the Utopia Spa project was Flisher Construction, a company Rowhill Grange have worked with for a number of years. There was no architect contracted on this particular project, however – all the design works were completed by the owners.
The main consideration during the works was to maintain the spa’s regular operations during the construction programme. Maintaining normal levels of customer services whilst carrying out a refurbishment can be extremely difficult, especially for a facility renowned for its relaxing and tranquil nature, so regulations were put in place to ensure construction work took place outside of peak hours. The majority of the construction work was implemented during early mornings or after peak times – as a result, many customers didn’t even realise the building work was taking place.
Premier Hospitality caught up with General Manager at Rowhill Grange Hotel and Utopia Spa, James Perry, he said:
“The offer we can provide at Utopia Spa is really revitalising. One of the most pleasing things is the team being completely infused in the project from start to end – the new works have given them fantastic new products to work with in great facilities and I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved in such a short space of time.”
“After a ten-week refurbishment to our Utopia Spa, we are truly delighted with the finish and feel we have achieved. The addition of our new facilities will further enhance our guests’ luxury spa experience and offer a truly unique spa experience within the Kent County.”
Flisher Construction Ltd
Flisher Construction Ltd is very pleased to have worked with Peter and Deborah, the Directors of Alexander Hotels, for over 21 years. In the first instance it was as a subcontractor on the renovation of bedrooms at Rowhill Grange just weeks after they originally bought the property. This was followed by the kitchen and bedroom extensions, the spa building, then a further bedroom block.
Flisher Construction Ltd was then asked to take on the works as the main contractor. This appointment led to the refurbishment of the Clock House function suite at Rowhill Grange with an additional bedroom wing.
The client’s acquisition of Langshott Manor hotel was probably one of the most challenging projects with the construction of a restaurant and bedroom block, which partially cantilevered over the adjoining lake and included a 400 year old manor house to the side.
By far the biggest project Flisher Construction Ltd has under taken to date was the construction of the spa and bedroom block at Alexander House Hotel. The 18-month, £7m pound project included an award-winning spa with treatment rooms and luxury bedrooms.
The spa and relaxation room refurbishment at Rowhill Grange Hotel has included the repositioning of the original gymnasium to allow for the new relaxation lounge. In addition the spa’s reception area has been remodelled to provide a more open and brighter feel as guests enter the reception.
All works at the hotels are carried out to a very high standard, something which Flisher Construction Ltd pride themselves on. Flisher Construction Ltd looks forward to working on any future projects with the Group.
