Aubaine – Cosmopolitan style with a French accent

Aubaine

Aubaine, the celebrated French brasserie with its own patisserie and boulangerie, has launched the first Aubaine Deli in La Piazza in the heart of Covent Garden.

As with Aubaine’s elegant London brasseries, the new Covent Garden Deli is designed with a true blend of cosmopolitan style, reflecting Aubaine’s Provençal roots and will offer high-quality fresh products.

Main contractors for the fit out of the new venue were QSF Interiors Ltd; designers were B3 Designers and mechanical and electrical consultants were Chapmans.

The menu includes new signature boulangerie and viennoiserie products from Aubaine’s own bakery, a classic and authentic breakfast range, sandwiches made from Aubaine’s own range of breads, seasonally changing hot dishes, along with salads and sharing boards.

The food menu is accompanied by coffee and teas from around the world, and fresh juices.

The all-day destination features seating inside and outside – meaning guests can relax in the stylish deli interior or in the buzzy surroundings of Covent Garden. Customers can also take away if they choose – ideal for busy workers or those on the run.

Created within a former retail unit, the striking new 60 sq m interior features a main counter with food display, along with secondary food display counters and loose seating and tables.

There is a further 70 sq m outdoor seating area set on a large terrace terrace on Covent Garden Piazza.

Design highlights of the interior include the main food counter which features a painted timber panelling frontage with a Carrara marble top, as well as other fixtures such as painted timber units at low level with glass shelving above.

Flooring is mainly in timber, with hexagonal tiles around the counter area, whilst the walls feature painted timber panelling with inlaid antique mirrors.

Lighting features include glass pendant lamps, bespoke large blackened steel lights with filament bulbs and steel projector lights with barn doors.

Another distinctive element of the interior is the exposed arches that continue the distinguished steel structure of Covent Garden.

A spokesman from B3 Designers said: “After working on several Aubaine restaurants it is enriching to see how Aubaine evolved and adapted their French design concept and food offer to the requirements of the site location.”

The project started in July 2016 and was completed in August.

Aubaine is a true blend of cosmopolitan style and French cuisine, combining the elegance of a Parisian salon with the relaxed ambience of a Provençal bistro offering both simplicity and style.

Aubaine Deli is the sister to Aubaine Restaurants, the all-day dining French brasserie. Aubaine have their own bakery and are incredibly proud of their bakers and patisserie chefs who bake all the breads, viennoiserie and patisserie every day using traditional methods, original recipes and premium French ingredients.

Aubaine has perfected the all-day dining experience in London. Using seasonal produce each dish is created with an emphasis on simplicity and quality. From eggs royale to filet de boeuf, the food brings the best of France to London and serves it with impeccable style.

Superb food, urban yet rustic interiors and personable service give Aubaine an air of relaxed sophistication and an aura of chic.

Evolving from the quest to find perfect French bread in London, Aubaine still holds true to its philosophy of simple luxury: “simplicité c’est beauté.”
